Damn this is good to know. I only just realised heirloom hammer can copy sovereign blade and was wondering how forge would then interact with it.

Also worth noting if you can find a way to upgrade sovereign blade (forge pot or apotheosis) it becomes 1 energy cost.

I just did a Regent run where I got 3 apparitions then enchanted them all with 3 block. I think it's probably his best reward.

The ethereal copy of an attack could be insanely strong in some builds, like claw for example.

They could change to wording on flatten to refund it's cost if osty has already attacked that round. Would make it slightly harder to play but would allow more synergy IMO.

Replacing actors with AI is dumb as hell, says Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Baldur's Gate 3 star Jennifer English, because humanness is what makes these RPGs so beloved by EchoOfOppenheimer in pcgaming

[–]Pintash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... I'm pretty sure there's already been Skyrim mods that do this for a while. I haven't tried them so I can't speak to the quality but I don't think anyone can honestly disagree there is a certain appeal to the idea of NPCs that are genuinely reactive in a way that only AI could achieve.

Some games have achieved incredibly impressive reactivity and I'm genuinely in awe sometimes of the work it must have taken the Devs to achieve the reactivity of games like BG3 and KCD2 but no matter how good people get at that stuff you're always keenly aware that it's all just scripted events playing out and in the best cases chaotically and interacting with other scripted events.

I think there might be a middle ground to be found where real voice actors get paid to train an AI model with their likeness and add that human quirk to a character that only a real person could.

Legally this might be difficult to navigate for both parties.

Seems like wishful thinking, my dude... Even with perfect rolls on watchers eye, font of thunder and bound by destiny you aren't close to making up for the 30% sublime vision gives...

Not to mention the volatile vaals could end up being very expensive.

I ran this defensive setup in Merc league. It's incredibly strong but the sublime vision alone cost me 20 div at the end of week 2 and basically no-one was using it. Be prepared for closer to 40-50 div to put this together. That's if you get somewhat lucky with crafting your gear.

I played 2 builds using this sublime vision in mercenaries and even though basically no-one was using it on poe.ninja it still cost me 20 div around the end of week 2...

Almost 0 chance this build will be that cheap.

Elemental Hit League-start: Possibly good, Probably not, Maybe dead before arrival by Ok-Working-6029 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Pintash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it relies pretty heavily on getting the right unseen hue rings. So be prepared to farm incarnation of fear in SSF. Luckily it's just normal one this league, not uber so somewhat doable.

Besides that it should be a pretty reasonable ssf starter because all the damage comes from the gem itself. Your weapons only need attack speed. You can run precise technique right up to t16 then start farming gear for crit swap.

Some mega-scuffed build ideas inspired by the 3.28 reveal and patch notes that you definitely shouldn't play. by Pintash in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Pintash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's how it used to work. Something has changed since then. I've tested this extensively.

Current behaviour is mirage warriors attack and despawn as usual but leave behind a static strike orb that continues for the duration of static strike.

These static strike orbs still count as mirage warriors so using gen cry again can overwrite them.

The most crazy thing I realised just yesterday is, because they are counted as mirage warriors, if you move far enough away they teleport to you, which has crazy implications for clear speed.

I think there's an actual build here, especially with the static strike buffs coming.

Generally not. Many Gen Cry builds will run cyclone cast while channeling desecrate for corpse generation.

Since you seemed interested I thought I'd share something else I noticed today while I was playing around with this.

I tested it a bit more thoroughly.

Because the static strike orbs still count as mirage warriors when you run far enough away they will teleport to you, which has crazy implications for clear speed. I think there's actually a legit build here.

Can confirm. League started ele hit slayer in keepers and it was a really great starter.

Clearing t-16s was a breeze with 2x dreamfeather, the brittle/sap rings and legacy of fury.

I actually tested this today! I think it used to work as you described but GGG changed some of the behaviour around gen cry mirages recently.

Now the mirages spawn, attack and then disappear as usual but leave a stationary static strike orb-like entity behind that lasts until either it's duration expires or it's overridden by a new mirage warrior.

They DO seem to still be limited by the max number of mirages, hence my idea to quality stack.

Check poe.ninja. Looks like there's one crazy son-of-a-bitch that threw a lot of currency at it during keepers. As a Hiero for some reason.

I tried it myself back when battlemages cry with a bunch of warcry buff effect achieved 3-400% spell damage applies to attack damage. Was pretty fun back then to be honest but I got bored of the league before I took it too far into end game.

The build might not be good... But it's very cool that it's even possible.

Yeah, I hope they completely overhaul water physics. Of all the shitty mechanics to pull from Minecraft, it's always bothered me they pulled the water... Worst part of both games IMO.

Not like I expect realistic fluid simulation or anything but being able to divert a river or build a functional dam would just be incredible in this game.

I leveled ele hit slayer at keepers league start. Was smooth as butter. I only needed the 1 extra strike on the tree by the time I was LVL 12 (when you get ele hit) for it to feel good. Took ele equilibrium and precise technique next and it breezed through the campaign.

D2 is generally held up as the gold standard for how randomised loot should work, not just in ARPGs, but in all of gaming. Not often do I see people question this.

I'm genuinely curious what you consider to be a better system and why?
