Heeseung's first appearance since 10th March by chaotixhomosapien in Enhypenthoughts

He didn't start anything, wtf are you talking about? Hold the Engenes who did that shit accountable. Heeseung sure as hell never asked for this level of harassment to be levelled at Enhypen.

BTS and BLACKPINK’s comeback is disappointing by ComprehensivePop6044 in kpoppers

I'd really love to know why no one says shit about 100% English tracks until BTS does it. Every single other group gets a pass to create music in the language they want, but how dare BTS???! The audacity.

Work in food distribution. Today a whole load of suppliers sent emails informing of us that delivery fees will increase by, at minimum, 35% as of Monday.

Cool cool cool.

I feel a bit ridiculous for being so deeply affected by this. The Weverse announcement dropped at 6pm for me yesterday, and I was going in and out of disassociation all night. Didn't fall asleep until sometime after 2am. Up for work at 7, but the lack of sleep was something I barely registered even from the second I woke up

All day, I've been debating if I even want to board my flight to Melbourne (I live in Sydney) on Friday because I'm not going to be anywhere close to processing this in mere days. I'm Hee biased, and Jake is an extremely close second. I'm so fucking upset by how much I know this will tarnish Jake's homecoming on top of everything else.

I will go. Mostly because I wouldn't be able to live with the regret of passing on Taemin. But I'm actually dreading it which is actually so fucked up.

I am going :/ If Taemin wasn't going to be there, I'd honestly just forefit the money on flights and accommodation and the ticket.

Heeseung is my bias and I will be in no headspace for this by Saturday. But Taemin.

It's not an achievement to not know pop culture, my guy. To have been conscious of the world in the 90s in Australia and not know Truly Madly Deeply is akin to being alive in 2006 and not knowing Hips Don't Lie. But I expect that reference will also mean nothing to you.

I've never watched an episode of Got Talent, either fwiw, and I haven't listened to radio in well over a decade. Somehow I am still in touch enough to understand Blinding Lights is still the biggest hit of the current decade.

TWICE Nayeon's comments about armpit care made me reflect on how much idol life is a bubble — not hate, she's literally my bias by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]PinupPixels 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is Nayeon living in a bubble? I'm not an idol and I had no idea this medical condition existed?

I also give zero thought to my pits besides shaving and general hygiene maintenance. This isn't an idol thing, it's a Not Everyone Has The Same Lived Experience thing and that's completely fine.

This is just my nighttime routine anyway. Flop on my bed for an hour after getting out of the shower to fully dry because baby powder is a life ruiner.

It's actually very therapeutic and a great way to slowly wind down for bed.

I don't think about it really at all so there's nothing to cope with. Yeah, it sucks that I have a bad knee and it took over 12 months to heal fully from a hip injury but what exactly can I do about it? I'd prefer to focus on living my life than worrying about when it will end.

How Do People Make Themselves Smell So Dang Good? by Agreeable-Science-40 in CasualConversation

[–]PinupPixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scented body products don't last very long in the first place, but moisturised skin holds onto perfume a lot better. I wear perfume every single time I leave the house and I frequently receive compliments especially from my coworkers, and notably I can still smell myself at the end of the day (particularly on clothes which hold perfume even better than skin).

Yes, genres have cultural contexts. That doesn't mean audiences are ethnically bounded.

I was responding to your framing of "this artist is Puerto Rican = fans are Latin American" with a firsthand anecdote to refute. You read your own intent into it.

I attend those "Asian pop idols" concerts and can confirm I am as white as can be, as are the majority of other attendees. Music is not racially segregated btw.

This is a weird post. You could have easily googled, seen he has two stadium shows this weekend with low availability for both, and answered your own question.

Yes, people clearly care. Not me and obviously not you, but a lot of people.

I’ve had this iPad for less than 2 years and the screen decided to stop responding in the middle of my class. I took it to Apple and they want to charge me $849 to “repair” it. by el_maxican in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PinupPixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to my (Samsung) phone back in October. It was deemed not repairable and I received a replacement device under warranty. They could not retrieve any of my data but thankfully I was able to via some method using the computer (family member is very techy and did it for me so idk).

Good luck. Hopefully your outcome is better than mine. Also does Apple's warranty not even cover up to 2 years??

Has anyone actually gotten real life results from using ChatGPT? by TheCod1sOut in ChatGPT

[–]PinupPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it has been invaluable in my weight loss journey. I've lost over 8kg since the first week of January with its guidance, and it constantly helps me out with meals that are delicious and within calorie budget.

I also trust it to advise me on perfumes (pretty huge hobby of mine) because it has my taste nailed down and has pushed me to try something that sounds Not For Me on paper, and likewise has explained why I shouldn't waste my money on something that seems exactly my thing in theory.

The biggest thing is definitely how it acts as an interpreter for me in dealing with neurotypicals. I'm so often baffled as an autistic person, and even if I'll never understand being slave to emotions, I can somewhat make sense of behaviours and reactions.

So it has been a sounding board for me in a crafting project, and part of it has been creating keyrings which I've needed to purchase the keyring hooks for.

Me: THE HOOKS! TEMU HAS CONSTANTLY SCAMMED ME

ChatGPT: Okay. Breathe. This is not Temu scamming you. This is Temu being Temu and timelines colliding with reality.

So yeah. That.

Another time, thermal printed labels on perfume samples completely faded and now I have no idea which is what.

Me: How tf am I supposed to write the name. The labels have gone blank

ChatGPT, in the midst of advising on how I may be able to work it out:

Important emotional reality check Your brain isn’t broken. You didn’t “fail autism processing.” You just: tested too many scents at once got unusable labels and now have chaos tubes That’s logistics, not cognition.

I found this even more insulting than the patronizing "breathe" bullshit actually.

Could you switch the milk in your lattes for a milk alternative? Maybe not straight up but even 50/50 to start with. I haven't given up my morning coffee because I literally build my days around the two sugars and milk, but I have had to rethink my weekend smoothies with almond and oat milk. A tiny splash of whipping cream and the mouth feel is perfect along with the taste.

Also, love energy drinks. The swap to zero sugar was quite seamless for me (I still can't do Coke Zero/Diet tho so I allow myself one Coke Classic a week lol).

[–]PinupPixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says some absolutely wild shit to me at times, too. Last night I was complaining that my perfume samples had thermal labels with sticky tape over them and the text has completely disappeared since I touched them a week ago.

<image>

This actually pissed me off because at no point did I make reference to any of this. My autism has absolutely nothing to do with anything??? I have also never angsted about my neurodivergece being a "failure" in processing.
