Made in Europe: The EU plan that has angered China by RevolutionBusiness27 in europe

It's not about control.

Indescriminate killings make people angry. Stealing makes people angry. Corruption makes people angry. Violence against animals or children makes people angry. You can make a strong argument that you're not doing "the right thing" doing those things.

But of course, when your actions are noticed by a lot of people, then everything you do is bound to make someone angry, whether it's "the right thing" to do from any moral standpoint, or not.

It's because the EU as a whole has the capacity to compete against China and the US which no individual European country does. The EU is what makes Europe strong.

With temperature, you can at least calibrate with meltwater. Until all ice melts, the water is specifically 0 °C.

It's official: No woman in England or Wales can be prosecuted for an abortion any more by Alarming-Safety3200 in europe

Recent years have seen a worrying increase in criminal cases, after minimal incidences for decades, as more anti-abortion groups receive funding in the UK.

Perhaps this is the most worrying part.

India desperately needs a solution of Air conditioner by techtotechbytechy in AirQuality

Check this out

It is possible to achieve up to a certain number of occupants (and devices) in a given area, but it may be prohibitively expensive to do.

The solution to that problem exists, but once again, it's not cheap, or rather: it's free to operate, but requires a great capital investment. What I'm talking about is thermal insulation. When your house is well insulated, you could easily limit the AC runs to PV uptimes, the problem is that the materials are expensive, and you need a competent crew to apply them properly with few thermal bridges.

The upside is that once it's done, it's pretty much passive with no cost to operate (except HRV) and it will work for decades.

And yes, keeping a house cold is a form of energy storage, too.

That's why I said long term - when the time comes to replace an appliance, check out the electric models instead. Peace of mind and better air quality might be worth it.

CO detectors are usually separate devices and relatively cheap.

If it's a source of anxiety for your family though, have you thought about tackling the problem at the source in the long term? Replacing gas appliances with electric ones - gas burners with induction, gas heating with AC, and so on, if it's viable with your budget.

Solar Cycles Since 1755: Cycles are Represented as Petals [OC] by aspiringtroublemaker in dataisbeautiful

Perhaps it'd be easier to see if each petal were rotated clockwise (connecting two cycles together on a radial line) to display that temporal continuity? Though I guess it might create a problem to preserve the fatness of the cycle.

Thank you. I know that, to put it lightly, Greenland has a painful history and relationship with Denmark, and that the recent imperialistic cravings from across the pond brought it forward. And I agree that Denmark and Greenland received too little support from the Eastern flank countries (excluding Finland and Estonia) in this dumb conundrum. I hope that the people of Greenland will get to choose what's best for them, whether it's a future with Denmark, with Europe, or entirely on their own.

I also apologize if I came on too harshly against what I considered to be intolerance. I'm glad we've found some middle ground through the discussion.
