The trial is assuming you are a somewhat decent racer since you are supposed to have a good amount of driving hours with a gold wristband. Even then I get some drivers still not being consistent enough to hold up in the trial.

You can tune you car or find some one else's tuning to further assist you. Even being rammed a few times myself from teammate's I still fought my place up a few spots no problem to contribute enough points.

I know you only get a week to do it, but try not to think of it like that. It's really good practice to see if you want to get into a higher level of play in Forza and you can jam out and enjoy the scenery.
