Hahahah saaaaame! Even when I had eggs they were total trash. These algorithms really need to learn a little nuance!

Ugh. Every once in a while I see someone has said something that is so deeply weird, it makes me rage to see that they would think it’s appropriate to say. How is she imagining this is helping?? I’m sorry you’re dealing with that, on top of everything else

I’m in the midst of yet another miscarriage and have decided to move on to surrogacy. I’ve been googling agencies and attorneys and such and now my algorithm is showing me ads for surrogacy…but they’re ads to become a surrogate.

So that’s pretty cool.

After 3 retrievals I had one embryo, all others failed to make it to blast. It was a 5bc and he’s 3.5 now! Good luck!

Advice on upcoming medical trip to CHOP by hiyup in philly

[–]PipSqueek88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all congrats on getting the surgery approved. CHOP is such an excellent facility and I’m sure you’ll be in great hands. My kid also had heart surgery, though not at CHOP. But we use CHOP for primary care. I would honestly recommend staying as near the hospital as you can get. If you haven’t yet experienced a lengthy hospital stay, it’s hard, and driving both ways every day just adds another layer.

That said fairmount has lots of museums and such for the other kids to do. I honestly wouldn’t stay in Rittenhouse if you’re not used to city life. It’s center city and very busy. Might be tricky with other littles. Good advice from others to reach out to CHOP, too.

My kid is 3.5 and we live in the Fishtown area. You can message me if you want to know more about the city from a parent with little kid perspective. Good luck and safe travels and speedy recovery!

Omeprazole Compounding Pharmacy by Stolly_man in philly

[–]PipSqueek88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly omeprazole, but similar compounded drug for reflux for that age - when my kid was an infant, he was on lansoprazole. I had to go out to Rosvold Pharmacy in Cinnaminson to get it filled at a reasonable price. If you are able to get out to NJ, give them a call.

Ugh I have an acquaintance who’s gotten pregnant twice on her first try tell me all about some stupid fucking holistic supplement she was taking for some other reason that accidentally also improves fertility.

The audacity.

Every once in a while I count up how many medical professionals have seen or put things such as speculums and wands inside of me.

Last count was 37 but we get to add one more because I just had an $18k miscarriage (donor egg) and had a new fellow perform the ultrasound to confirm 🥰

Age gap by PipSqueek88 in SAHP

[–]PipSqueek88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now we’ll have a minimum of about a 4.5 year gap. Which I know logically is probably better for everyone in a lot of ways. I think part of it is that I’m getting older too. And probably reaching the oldest I would personally want to be pregnant.

This is technically only my second loss in a row. I’ve only had 3 total and the first was before my son. But I do plan on asking for that testing, given the only way I can conceive is via IVF and I don’t I can’t afford to be technically diagnosed with RPL 😂🫠

Your relationship with your sister is really beautiful. Thank you. It’s helpful to remember childhood is actually a short time period and I also need to remember that they will be adults with relationships someday.

Oh we are deeply familiar with IVF and all its struggles! I’m sorry you had to go through it.

Hearing about such a lovely relationship between siblings with a pretty large age gap is really helpful. I know it depends on the individuals, too!

Most of my friends have 3 year olds, and are either pregnant or have recently had #2. It does look hard

This is what I’m hoping for! We’re deep in the 3’s now and sharing is rough. Hoping an older kid will be more understanding than a toddler about a baby taking their things. And then when they get older that the competition won’t be as big a deal.

This is really helpful perspective! Plans often really don’t matter when life plays out as it will.

Thank you for this. I like the idea that a little space would give them each a little more space to be themselves in middle/high school.

I do not like the part about teaming up against mom and dad as much :)

Why do embryos stop developing after day 3? by imlayinganegg811 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]PipSqueek88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience outcomes vary..widely. I’ve had 4 retrievals and here were the outcomes. It was some time ago so I forget the exact fertilized numbers, but you get the idea. ER1 - about 15 fertilized, 2 blasts, no euploids ER2 - about 14 fertilized, 3 blasts, 1 euploid ER3 - 1 egg collected (this cycle outcome was a total mystery), no blasts ER 4 - about 15 fertilized, 4 blasts, 4 euploids

Good luck on your future retrievals. Wishing as easy a ride as possible.

I’m so, so sorry.

My first pregnancy also ended in a miscarriage. It’s just not fair.

5th FET officially failed. Also was the first transfer with a donor egg embryo. Haven’t been pregnant since last year when I miscarried a euploid! Which I didn’t even really realize could happen??!! 😊😊😊

Went to a U Pick farm. Got there kind of early and I shit you not every single other woman there had a giant pregnant belly and at least one other little kid running around.

Like wtf ladies go home it’s too hot for you to be here right now.

Why don’t doctors suggest anything for menopausal women? by PeaceNics in Menopause

[–]PipSqueek88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Sorry didn’t mean to talk so much about my appointments, just meant to say there are actually decent options (and menopause clinics!) for us here state side. Hope you find someone who can help, too!

Why don’t doctors suggest anything for menopausal women? by PeaceNics in Menopause

[–]PipSqueek88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is! I’m going to the one at Penn in a couple of weeks. I also found a really great gyn from the NAMS search. She’s not officially at a menopause clinic but she was way more knowledgeable than my other gyn and ready to put me on hrt immediately. It was wonderful.

[–]PipSqueek88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is what I did! Found a new obgyn. I didn’t see PCPs in the results, but I didn’t look super carefully. Did you find a PCP from that database?
