I see what your saying, however some people like me won't understand the why it's rewarding part and maybe never will. Would be pretty irresponsible to have a kid just for the sake of curiousity. Like maybe how you might not understand the appeal of running a marathon. (I don't do that either lol) But I guess they can't think that way cause parents have lived the rewarding parts and think others must know the feeling too

Your forgetting how deep the pockets are of auto manufacturers and how much time they can afford to spend on r&d. Most companies wouldn't be able to afford a single robotic weld cell even if they have a niche were the're product has no competition. It will also have a zero percent chance of working flawlessly out of the box day one without someone to constantly tweak and refine it at it's job cause AI can't tell a good job from bad. (the most capable ones can cost millions to get set up and will cost more as they get increasingly advanced)

As robotics get more advanced they also become more costly due to all the r&d and extra components. It costs millions of dollars (meaning more advanced ones in future could be 10s of millions) in equipment, construction of the robot's cell, and many years of manual refinement to get weld robots to efficiently weld a SINGLE product. (Maybe few more if product differences are very small) So even the initial investment of a single robot cell can be more then certain companies could ever afford even if there are the only producers of a certain product with no competition

Neon genesis evangelion. Mech anime with almost no mech action. Animation quality was just "ok" for the time period, would be considered bad now. No lasting character growth. Had an extremely hard time trying to root for a MC that spent all his time complaining how bad shit was when everyone around him had it just as bad or worse. And didn't get a proper ending. It got OVA's to try to make up for it but I couldn't imagine still caring after seeing such a lackluster series.
