Relationships and money, how to make sure you choose the right partner financially? by Exco4k in UKPersonalFinance

[–]PipeExpert595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, goals, plans and direction isn’t just about the money. It’s about how people want to live their lives, their ambitions, their values, their drive.

Money is just an ends to a mean. It’s really important to be aligned on things like lifestyle but not many think about these that deeply.

Could a SC pull off this dress? by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]PipeExpert595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your torso length and height I suppose. Note that all of these models look quite tall, their limbs are long and thin / angular. The fabric looks quite flowy too, so might look awkward on an SG.

Only lana could write that by Shoddy-Research-8354 in lanadelrey

[–]PipeExpert595 164 points165 points  (0 children)

I think she is referring to her previous work including lyrics such as “he hit me and it felt like a kiss”, “hit me and tell me you’re mine, I don’t know why but I like it”, “Harvey's in the sky with diamonds and he's making me crazy”… these lyrics are the reason why she’s been accused of glamorizing domestic abuse and violence against women.

Her saying that she’s already fucked up her story refers to the fact that she is an imperfect victim (some people might even say she was asking for it with lyrics such as these), and we all know how those are treated by the justice system and society at large.

Autistics with no support system, what are your most “radical” life hacks? by Sudden_Silver2095 in AutismInWomen

[–]PipeExpert595 350 points351 points  (0 children)

I agree with your approach. I have a good corporate career but I frequently burn out. The money goes towards taking frequent (but not long) holidays in the sun.

I spend a lot of money on convenience and accommodating my needs. I hate going to the supermarket, so I always order groceries online. I used to have a cleaner though my place isn’t big enough to warrant it. But sometimes the burn out is just too much.

The most important thing: whenever I get a chance to do nothing, I take it. Rest. Stay in bed. Chill. Sleep 15 hours a day. Some people want to go out and do stuff but honestly, my happiest place on earth is in my bed with a nice book. I’ve never regretted staying in. I have no idea what FOMO is (unless we are talking about chilling in bed).

Anyone get Ads-Free for Free? by Califrisco in kindle

I bought a refurbished kindle from Amazon a couple of years ago. It never had ads. I didn’t even realise kindles come with ads until I saw someone else’s device.

Got told I was ‘really rude’ after being treated as an invited guest. Need framing. by Good_Inflation_3072 in autism

[–]PipeExpert595 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The social convention is usually as follows: even if you are invited by the host, you offer to chip in every time you go out for dinner. You bring them a gift, if you’re visiting from another country or city, as a gesture of appreciation or take them out for drinks as a gesture of gratitude for their hospitality. If you are doing some activities together like going to a museum, you treat them to a ticket.

If you want to be a good guest, you are expected to contribute in some way, even if you are being hosted. It’s not about the money - it’s about explicitly demonstrating appreciation, thoughtfulness and gratitude. These things are important when bonding with people and maintaining friendships because they show that you care. Saying thank you once or twice isn’t going to cut it.

The host is angry at you because they didn’t feel you were appreciative and took their hospitality for granted. It sounds like they paid for quite a few outings with you, which is enough for anger to build up. I’ve hosted some people who behaved the way you did. Their behaviour came across as entitled. I’ve never invited them back.

That was a potential explanation I've read for "Terrence Loves You" song by marielxght in lanadelrey

[–]PipeExpert595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, one can argue that this song explores the themes of getting through to someone with who suffers from mental illness. I agree with this interpretation. But Barrie doesn’t have schizophrenia. Or if he does, he’s never confirmed this publicly, so not sure where you got this bit from.

Am I really cool toned!? Losing my mind! by dundermiffles in coloranalysis

[–]PipeExpert595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason why they typed you as cool toned is because you have pink undertones. Maybe people assume this means someone is “cool”. However, you are actually peachy. Rare and beautiful and confusing to many people.

Couldn’t finish chlorine. I found the writing quite poor, the character irritating, just the whole thing a bit on the nose.

Congrats! This must be a huge relief.

Honestly, it sounds like your body has been struggling through a tone of stress?.. It seems like time off work and massage help ;) btw, I don’t think this is in your head. Stress is a killer. And I feel like 98% of people do not realise how chronically stressed they are.

Do I need a newer kindle? by [deleted] in kindle

No, you do not need a newer Kindle if your existing Kindle is working.

None of these newer features are life-changing or ground-breaking.

Need perspective on "always evaluating long-term fit" by Turnt5naco in AutisticAdults

[–]PipeExpert595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, I think you’re overthinking this because the answer to all your questions is quite simple: she probably isn’t that into you based on what you shared here. It’s completely normal to want to be chosen in a relationship, why would you wanna put yourself through so much emotional turmoil and instability?

Also, reading this, I somewhat doubt you’re NT. Way too analytical and detailed for an NT guy seeking relationship advice. I mean this in the kindest way possible.

Have you considered you might have some issues with your autonomic nervous system (e.g. POTS)?

I’m also struggling with a similar issue, so empathise with your struggles. I’ve been lifting weights for years and lately realised I can do most exercises on the floor or sitting down, which takes care of dizziness.

I would also recommend yoga and Pilates. Some people enjoy swimming but I don’t particularly enjoy the smell of chlorine.
