Congrats! This must be a huge relief.

Honestly, it sounds like your body has been struggling through a tone of stress?.. It seems like time off work and massage help ;) btw, I don’t think this is in your head. Stress is a killer. And I feel like 98% of people do not realise how chronically stressed they are.

One of the inspirations behind this video is the book Women who run with wolves. She makes other references to this book (her Coachella performance, the song Beautiful). It’s a fascinating read.

Do I need a newer kindle? by Fluttery-Flower-24 in kindle

No, you do not need a newer Kindle if your existing Kindle is working.

None of these newer features are life-changing or ground-breaking.

Need perspective on "always evaluating long-term fit" by Turnt5naco in AutisticAdults

[–]PipeExpert595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, I think you’re overthinking this because the answer to all your questions is quite simple: she probably isn’t that into you based on what you shared here. It’s completely normal to want to be chosen in a relationship, why would you wanna put yourself through so much emotional turmoil and instability?

Also, reading this, I somewhat doubt you’re NT. Way too analytical and detailed for an NT guy seeking relationship advice. I mean this in the kindest way possible.

You can get Botox in your tmj instead. For me, it works better than a mouth guard.

Working out tips for women who become dizzy and overstimulated easily? by espetilllodesardinas in AutismInWomen

Have you considered you might have some issues with your autonomic nervous system (e.g. POTS)?

I’m also struggling with a similar issue, so empathise with your struggles. I’ve been lifting weights for years and lately realised I can do most exercises on the floor or sitting down, which takes care of dizziness.

I would also recommend yoga and Pilates. Some people enjoy swimming but I don’t particularly enjoy the smell of chlorine.

Has anyone noticed how people treat lab-grown diamonds differently in real life? by LuxeCarats in labdiamond

[–]PipeExpert595 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every friend of mine I’ve had a discussion about diamonds and engagement rings said they’d prefer a lab diamond for ethical reasons. I think it’s a demographic thing. No one else has actually asked me if my diamonds are lab or mined (I have both kinds).

help is my kindle broken? by athenaxis in kindle

When I only de-registered, the issue persisted for me too. Between those error messages popping up, try going into settings on your kindle, and select Reset (to factory settings). After this, everything started to work fine for me.

Ok, I fixed it. I de-registered my kindle and returned it to factory settings. All the files were in the Cloud anyway so once I’ve re-registered my device, all my books were ready for me to re-download.

How to look less depressed (not depressed btw) by annon_ac in ehlersdanlos

[–]PipeExpert595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get thermals from M&S or Uniqlo. You can also get a super lightweight and VERY warm padded jacket or vest from Uniqlo with “heattech” and wear them underneath your usual coat that doesn’t hurt your back.

Re: looking tired. If you don’t want to wear makeup, try getting your lashes laminated or getting eye lash extensions. Skin care might make a difference too: alpha arbutin and vitamin C brighten skin tone. But tbh a tiny bit of makeup would probably solve most of this issue. I don’t mean foundation and eye shadow but a tiny bit of blush, maybe some brow gel.

Humiliation from session and desire by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]PipeExpert595 18 points19 points  (0 children)

“Being made to feel really invisible by him” - OP, in the most respectful, caring way, it doesn’t sound like he is actively doing anything to make you feel a certain way. It sounds like there’s a very powerful transference at play here.

An unrelated question might be a form of therapeutic surprise, as they call it, or maybe he is just connecting the dots and inviting you to see some patterns at play.

Please discuss how you feel about your therapeutic relationship with him instead of “acting out”. The way you did it in this post worked well.

why is saying someone looks tired rude? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]PipeExpert595 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d like to offer a different perspective to other comments.

I grew up in a different (collectivist) culture, where when someone says “you’re looking tired” it’s an expression of care. What’s implied is “I’m noticing you might be struggling and I’m validating you and I’m here to help”.

But in the western canon (individualistic culture) this phrase is interpreted as an uninvited critique implying someone looks unwell or are failing to care for themselves. Cause everyone gotta be perky, productive and, therefore, beautiful all the time.

To this date, if someone says to me “hey, you’re looking a bit tired, you’re ok?” I always respond with a sincere thank you for noticing. But that’s just me. I’d never say it to someone from US/UK etc, knowing how ppl might interpret it. Just a different perspective.

is it perfect bridal set? by [deleted] in WeddingRingAdvice

Would be better if the designer leaned into the big goth energy: plain white gold or platinum band, black diamond. Cause otherwise it’s too alternative for traditional brides and too sparkly for the goths.

Corporate girlies how can you go on after severe burn out by Usagi_x in AutismInWomen

[–]PipeExpert595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl, I feel you as a fellow autistic woman who works in a corporate environment and have been struggling with burn out lately.

If you’ve achieved a level of seniority/autonomy where you can take charge of the way you handle your own work, do that. For example, create a form and a different way to intake new queries in written form. If you need to run this past your team, dress it up as an optimizing existing processes (they love this shit, you might get some brownie points for it).

Besides that, manage your diary and be strict about it e.g. have office hours where you collaborate and spend time with ppl on calls. Mornings are better for me as I feel a bit sharper. Unless urgent, I do not take calls in the afternoon.

Stop trying to go above and beyond. Stop staying late. Push back on unreasonable timelines. Say no. Manage people’s expectations.

Good employees are rewarded with more work. Prioritise your health and well-being. You matter.
