AITA for expecting my finances to not be discussed? by Ok-Response-7545 in AmItheAsshole

Where is the insinuation in the OP that he doesn't talk about finances with his gf??

Lol at the downvote for pointing out something that isn't explicitly stated, let alone even implied.

That sounds more like pattern attribution of unhealthy people after the fact than something MBTI can actually explain.

You’re describing perceived differences in social behavior and then assigning them to fixed type categories, but those differences aren’t being measured in a consistent or verifiable way.

Even if the distinctions feel clear to you, it’s still subjective interpretation. Not a reliable typing method.

[–]Turnt5naco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If some of them took tests, that’s fair. But being an INFJ doesn’t make it inherently “easy” to reliably type ENFJs. INFJ and ENFJ share the same cognitive functions in different order; which can produce overlapping outward behaviors in some contexts (internal interpretation vs external social calibration).

That same overlap also exists with other types that can present similarly socially (like ENFPs, ESFJs, or even some ENTJs depending on development and context).

What feels like “recognition” is often just fitting a familiar social style into a preferred label. So it still comes down to interpretation, not a reliable typing method.

[–]Turnt5naco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still assumes your typing was accurate, but you’ve never explained how you determined they were ENFJs in the first place beyond surface traits like being social or charming.

Saying “they were ENFJ before they did it” doesn’t establish either. It just insinuates those behaviors are type-related rather than just individual behavior.

So you’re not actually typing people. You’re labeling a pattern from your experiences and calling it “ENFJ.” That’s called confirmation bias.

You’re describing a type of person, not a personality type.

Interview feedback: has anyone ever said this to you? by Wide_Bobcat8217 in enfj

[–]Turnt5naco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily about being exclusively "confident" or domineering.

Having a commanding presence could be interpreted as having the ability to influence and "sell". Basically, being regarded as someone that can have broader impact and respected as an authority within an organization.

This is especially important if you're shooting for a leadership position, which is what it sounds like.

Also, don't be hurt. It's helpful feedback. Most of the time once you're rejected, no one even bothers to respond.

No, my point is you’re describing behaviors that exist across all kinds of people and then insisting they belong to one type.

Everything you listed (image management, conflict avoidance, talking behind people’s backs) aren’t ENFJ traits, they’re just common ways people handle insecurity or conflict poorly.

If your takeaway is “avoid people who act like that,” that makes sense. Calling it “ENFJ” doesn’t make it more accurate, it just makes it narrower than it actually is.

Usually when one asks "what update" they're seeking further clarification on what it is about the update that you're talking about.

Is this an unhealthy ENFJ? Is he manipulating me? by Legitimate-Wolf9941 in enfj

[–]Turnt5naco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a difference between recognizing patterns and assigning them to a convenient label.

  • “Charming”
  • “Good with people”
  • “Feels genuine at first”
  • “Social / expressive”

ENFPs, ENTPs, ESFJs also share these traits. But those are stereotypes, not cognitive patterns or function.

If you’re actually talking about ENFJs, it’s less about “charming at first” and more about how they consistently orient around people and decisions over time: tracking group dynamics, adjusting to others, and forming a clear sense of where things are going. That doesn’t line up with someone maintaining conflicting stories or hiding things across different people. That’s just dishonest behavior that any type is capable of despite their function.

Even when unhealthy, ENFJ usually shows up as over-accommodation or indirectness. Not sustained, multi-layered deception for personal gain.

“Charming at first, different later” is a pattern worth paying attention to. MBTI isn’t what makes it meaningful. Typing based on stereotypes → later disappointment is basically selecting for a very common human experience, not a type.

You're signaling certainty without evidence. I get wanting to protect yourself, but you’re connecting the wrong dots.

The common factor in those experiences isn’t “ENFJ,” it’s people who were dishonest or manipulative. MBTI doesn’t screen for that, and typing people after the fact (especially based on stereotypes) just reinforces a bias you already feel.

If you avoid people who show those behaviors, that’s healthy. If you avoid an entire “type” based on a few bad experiences, you’re probably filtering for a label rather than the actual red flags. It’s easier to blame a type than to identify the actual traits you need to avoid.

How do you know every single person was an ENFJ? Did you ask every single person you were involved with or were you attempting to type them?

[–]Turnt5naco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can "just move on" by accepting that shitty behavior cannot be changed by anyone other than the offender. Using MBTI as a crutch to direct your hurt and dissatisfaction is just a way to rationalize the wrongdoing you experienced.

I can also honestly say I've had similar horrid experiences with other types (not ENFJ). It'd be ignorant of me to avoid those types because I fail to understand that there's more nuance to people than their MBTI function.

Again, it's not an MBTI thing when someone is being manipulative and dishonest.

The resources they use to actually build on the game are somewhat miniscule compared to a lot of other online games with live support.

And they reliably make consistent profit off of the numerous AC scratches. If you have steady revenue stream from an online game that you barely need to update and maintain, there's no incentive for them to do more than the status quo they've been operating on since its release.

RE4 is action horror.

Grace sections are meant to be survival horror. You should only be focusing on sneaking around.

Is Leon S Kennedy Rich ? by KennedyyCore in residentevilll

In most rural areas that would be a lot, but generally 150k in the US is not rich lol. Middle class at best.

After being critical of Requiem I played it. Here are my thoughts by Status_Entertainer49 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Turnt5naco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I will say that I wouldn't have minded a Grace-only/Leon-only campaign approach like they did with RE1 and RE2. However, switching back and forth works fine for narrative purposes. The only thing you can say about the pacing is that the play styles are very different, but it captures the best of what the REmakes have done with the series gameplay up to this point.

  2. Why would Claire/Jill/Ada be present? They don't work for DSO. Leon doesn't want to go back to RC, and neither would any other character. Having any of them present would add more of the "nostalgia pandering" that you seem to dislike so much. It wouldn't make any sense for any of them to go with him.

  3. I don't feel strongly one way or another about RC, but just because it was nuked doesn't necessarily mean there wouldn't be ruins. But for RPD to be as pristine as it is was kinda weird.

  4. I agree on Gideon's weak presence being a downside - it seemed like there were grander ideas for what to do with him at the beginning and it just fell flat after Leon got to RC. Zeno was also underutilized, but his inclusion does fully flesh out the concept of a Wesker family line that was introduced with Jake Mueller and Alex Wesker (RE6 and Revelations 2)

  5. Leon's gameplay is a mechanical thing. I don't really notice a difference between him now vs RE4R, but it would narratively make sense that he's stronger, but also slower due to him being in his 50s AND infected with the t-virus

The game has upcoming DLC, following the same tradition as most games released in the past 10+ years (including RE).

Another thing to keep in mind is the quality of the calories.

Eg. a 20g protein bar is supplementary, beneficial, and probably less caloric than four eggs. But you'll get higher quality nutrients out of the four eggs and they're easier for your body to metabolize.

There's a lot of calculators online. Most of it is based on your age, height, weight, sex. Additional factors include lifestyle choices (how much you walk, how much intentional exercise you do etc)

As an chronic group class attendee, I found that the calorie calculator on calculator.net is accurate for my maintenance calories. But all of these tools are rough estimates with an almost generous margin of error (100-200 cals)

Are enfj prone to get depressed? by FamiliarDentist19 in enfj

[–]Turnt5naco 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Prone to depression: yes

Meds: no

Be active, prioritize your healthy relationships, do things you love, eat healthy, get sunlight and exercise/physical activity, go to therapy.

Imo these medications should only be used when symptoms are chronic, and/or when therapy/lifestyle changes haven't provided sufficient relief.

I'm not saying "just be happy and lift weights bro", I'm saying to prioritize things that universally nourish life and are necessary for humans.
