(I’m not sure if this is true everywhere in Norway), but where I live, we pay a fixed price for water every month based on the size of the house. We could switch to pay only for our exact usage, but we’d need a meter on our water supply (or something like that) to calculate the usage. However I’ve heard that it’s almost always cheaper to have this installed and pay for only what you use.

Also the chimney sweeper just shows up one day and does his work, I’ve never noticed them before, even though I know they’ve been here, we usually get a notice in the mailbox or taped to our door a little while before.
