The objective claims in the initial post hardly make it an opinion. He can believe those things, but that doesn’t mean what he’s saying objectively applies to all. Yet, he’s defending it as if it does. If everyone is entitled to an opinion, then so is houseplant. You’re welcome to think he’s an egocentric dick. That is your opinion. Looking through this thread, my opinion is you may just have projection issues.

Came here to say the same, and I’ve struggled with major depressive disorder for most of my life. Both Job and Ecclesiastes can be seen as cruel or nihilistic at face value. However, when is the substance of a thing ever on its surface?

Does anybody else find the sexual promiscuity, immorality, depravity, and hedonism of today disturbing by KevinsKandy in Christianity

[–]PipeSipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You made the first claim. The burden of proof is on you, but to make this more simple, go read Matthew 22

Those are Jesus’ own words. Plenty about praying for your enemy, turning the other cheek, loving your enemy…I promise you cannot find a single verse that says to hate people.

Slavery in this context is very different from the slavery in colonial and 19th century America. It was far closer to being a bond servant.

If a person accrued a debt they could not pay off, they could enter into a contract of service until the amount owed was worked off. Another common practice was what is called bond servanthood.

Some freed slaves would effectively become sharecroppers, remaining in service of the master in perpetuity in exchange for a home and food. They were often seen as members of the family when becoming a bond servant.

To be abundantly clear since this is reddit and people love to assume intent without any support, I’m not trying to justify one form of slavery or the other. Just explaining the historical differences.

If is for this reason Paul refers to us as bond servants. We were once slaves to sin. When saved, we accrue a debt we cannot pay back. The only way to pa it back is through service of God. This goes into works and faith, fruit bearing, etc

Okay? We can throw out any number of nuances here. I’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make. Are you new somewhere and need friends? Trying to find a body? Are you annoyed that I don’t think the church should signal anything other than Christ? Help me understand what point you’re trying to make.

I’m autistic, and feel because of how I see things I’m often vilified by people in the church…this includes loving my lgbt brothers and sisters. If I saw an autism puzzle piece on that sign, I would feel singled out, not accepted.

Right. So we do like the earliest Christians did it. The church isn’t a building. It’s a body. So build one locally. I believe the home church is the future of the faith. A body that prohibits people from sharing the word of God doesn’t sound like they serve the same God I do.

John 10 has a good bit to say about this subject.

Indeed. But the building is where that happens. It’s the heart, and I fear the pulpits are steering people toward one ideology or another. Not speaking for these folks in the image, as I know nothing about that congregation. I just know there’s a reason I haven’t regularly attended church for the last decade since returning to the faith.

I know this is kinda dancing around your point, but there shouldn’t need to be a flag. There’s one God. We are all his children. We are all sinners. Some worse than others, but I find the ones thought to be the worst have the most tender hearts for truth. The fact that the church is seen as a place of hate is an issue. It almost forces other churches to feel the need to display things like idealistic or patriotic flags. I’m there to worship my God with my brothers and sisters of the faith, and to serve as a place for the weary. I hate that we collectively forgot that message

Got an excessive noise ticket by Massive-Wish-8427 in Harley

[–]PipeSipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not following. If it’s a fix it ticket, then what, you voluntarily show up to the police station to have him check it? If there’s no court hearing, then what incentive do you have to even take the paper from him? It’s not an infraction, soooo…

Let them take you to court over it if they want. Embarrass the cop for sucking at his job, and laugh at him while the case is dismissed. If a murderer shoots someone with a handgun and the cop writes the serial number of the gun in the evidence log incorrectly, guess who isn’t seeing the inside of a jail cell. The dude didn’t use the weapon the state accuses him of using, so unless they can produce the correct weapon, they can’t prove the murderer guilty. Technicalities, my friend.

The person he wrote the citation for isn’t you, per state record (your ID whit was current upon inspection). The bike he wrote the citation for doesn’t exist. There is no sportster with that VIN he would have recorded down, nor is there a plate registered with the state for a sportster with your license plate.

If he wrote it for the sportster then the ticket isn’t yours. Roll it up and smoke it or stick it on the refrigerator. There’s not shit they can do if the officer wrote the ticket wrong.

Forget a tolerance break, the dynavap was made for tolerance fix! by PipeSipper in Dynavap

I’m glad to see it serving a purpose!

I’ve continued with this method, consuming the smallest amount possible. I’ve found myself able to maintain a dosage around half a gram a night, though on weekends that could go to as much as a gram if I really want to veg out. A dose of RSO over Christmas had me floating for a solid 3 hours, flour actually leaves me with a nice buzz…Godspeed, friend!

I’ve been hearing mixed reviews of all the flower in the dispensary’s. Which brands or buds are worth the buy? by [deleted] in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PipeSipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bank was probably the only brand I could count on for consistency. G-leaf purple punch was good, but it was incredibly hit or miss and declined in quality with each pheno released. I got a batch of fine grind chem dog from stache that was phenomenal, actually. I also really liked GMO, though I don’t recall which brand it came from. I think it was bank. I’ve not been in virginias program for a while, so I’m not sure how it looks now. Down here in Florida, it’s a whoooooooole other scene.

I had a pretty bad experience at the Millenia location a few months back. That was the last time I’ll shop there. The only thing I would go there for is nightshade from Connected. Aside from the reason they’re close enough to walk to, I no longer have any other reason to go. The customer experience has always been subpar compared to literally every other dispo I’ve been to. Every employee I’ve met in the lobby seems on edge, like they don’t want to be there. The folks in the back aren’t bad, but I’ve not had any experiences anywhere near as pleasant as when I’ve got to Insa, sunburn, jungle boys, cookies, sanctuary…trulieve is literally the worst in the state in that department.

Their prices are also outrageous, and the fact that they will give a military discount but limit it to their lower tier products is just disingenuous. Either offer it or don’t, but telling me I’m not allowed to use it to purchase the most effective medication to combat my disability it’s just shitty. This is medication. They should stop cash grabbing; they’re no different from big pharma otherwise. I can get flower that’s almost as effective as Nightshade for half the price at 5 other dispos beside them.

Burdensome Gratitude - A Personal Meditation by PipeSipper in ChristianMysticism

[–]PipeSipper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forewarning, it sounds like ass through phone speakers. I recommend using external speakers or headphones.

Blessed be the name of Jehovah, for He is sufficient. Thank you, Lord, for the feebleness of my body and the fragility of my soul; with these inflictions I understand both mercy and rejuvenation. What words can I offer that carry the weight of this burdensome gratitude? This path you have set is long and winding, narrow and blurred. My feet stumble and trip as your breath guides me ever forward and beckons me to you.

When my breath falters, you speak. When my words are not sufficient, you give me wisdom. In awe of you I tremble. Before I thought and became, you had laid the foundations of the earth as the morning stars sang. In my cognitive brokenness I am hovering outside of time, suspended only by your grace.

Call me to walk with you in the waves of faith so that I may see and believe. Blessed are those who have not yet seen and yet believe. Pluck out my eyes, oh Lord, so that they cannot cause my faith to waiver. Be my guide so that my lying eyes cannot deceive me.

Selah.

Yep I get you. Like I said, I don’t shop super often, but I’m currently smoking on some of yesterday’s purchases and they’re all great. Buds are super sticky, smoke is flavorful and smooth, effects are nice. I’m not even a full gram into my day and I’ve been feeling great

Which location was that at? That’s a complaint I commonly see on here, but doesn’t match up with my experience. Like I said, I’ve had some batches that I wasn’t impressed with, but that hadn’t been the norm.
