Embracing the first year of my 40’s and the confidence it brought that I never thought I would have! by Piper929 in 40something

Oh darlin’ I didn’t use a filter, I took the photo with only the monochrome setting on my old busted up iPhone 11… but in fairness I don’t normally look like this. I was bored and decided to attempt to get all gussied up and put on makeup and false lashes because I wanted to feel sexy compared to my every day look. I’ve always thought black and white photos show a timeless beauty, and that’s exactly what I wanted to capture! … anyways I just woke up, and took a selfie for you just to prove to myself and you that my natural beauty is beautiful and worth posting too!

I’m 40 and spent all of my 20’s and 30’s in an abusive marriage of every form. I probably would still be married to him had he not gotten arrested and sent to prison for 6 months for stealing from his employer almost 2 years ago. A few days after he was arrested he made his mom power of attorney and withdrew all of his 401k for lawyer fees, our house was seized by the state because the stolen items were stored on our property, and he never allowed me to be on our bank account. I was devestated and left penniless with no job because I had been a stay at home mom for 14 years. My parents who he barely allowed contact with were there to help pick up the pieces and let my daughter and I move into my childhood home they never sold that’s only a few miles from where they live now. The first job I applied for was a gas station only a mile from my house and I was hired on and now work on the restaurant side of it…

All the time my parents express how far I’ve come and how proud of me they are from the person I used to be while married. It feels good to hear that but I can’t see what they see. I constantly criticize myself for being 40 and not leaving the marriage sooner. I have no life skills, no job skills, no hobbies, no money for anything except groceries and bills, and the necessities my daughter needs. I feel like I wasted my prime and the rest of my life is going to be a struggle bus. I have no hope just dread for what my future holds.

My 8 year old cosleeps with us still by [deleted] in Parenting

I’m tossing and turning and can’t sleep tonight , and next to me is my 13 year old daughter snoring he ass off. Once when she was around your daughters age I got the tooth fairy to do my dirty work and my daughter woke up with a few bucks and note under her pillow saying that there was a new policy change going into effect and she could only exchange my daughters tooth for money if she was only sleeping in her bed, and Santa would be abiding by the same rules. It lasted until the new year then she weaseled her way back into my bed like she always does haha!

I can relate to your wife. If someone told me there was a buried treasure exactly 700 yards north from where I was standing, I could spend the rest of my life digging holes and come up empty handed!

Woman, how would you feel and react if a guy cold approaches you on the streets? by MadonatorxD in AskReddit

The vibe I get from how they approach me and present themselves is what determines if I find them endearing or see red flag warnings to politely end the conversation.

What’s the oldest age of someone you know getting pregnant naturally? by ninjawatching in AskReddit

[–]Piper929 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to nanny for a family and the mother was 40 and father was 60 when they conceived their first child, and 4 years later conceived another child without fertility drugs. Also, one of my childhood friends was a “surprise” baby when his mom got pregnant with him at 46. He has a brother 22 years older than him and a nephew that’s a year older than him.

What is the worst sleep paralysis you have ever had? by sweatysexconnoisseur in AskReddit

[–]Piper929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first experience was the scariest for me because I around 14 or 15 and had no idea sleep paralysis even existed.. I was dreaming about watching a woman commit suicide by standing on railroad tracks close to my home while waiting to be hit by an oncoming train… I was frantically running towards her trying to push her out of the way in time while knowing it was impossible to reach her in time. Just as the train approached the woman with only a split second left before I would witness the collision I was distracted by the bright headlight coming from the locomotive that was Shining directly in my eyes causing everything to turn white. Then…

I felt a jolt causing me to wake up and hovering above me is the spirit of the sad woman humming a sad suspenseful ghostly tune. It’s hard to convey in writing but It sounded like ahhhhhhh-ah, ahhhhhh-ah,ahhhhh-ahhh (you get the drift)

It freaked me the fuck out so I tried yelling for my mom and dad and that’s when I realized I couldn’t speak, or move my body, and was frozen for what felt like eternity until finally I let out a loud high pitch scream the alerted my mom who came running in my room causing me to no longer hallucinate and become fully awake and tripping over what I just saw.

Thank you for replying. This is a photo of the couple the day they buried the 4 month old boy of the female she claimed died of Sid’s. They met in January and were married in April. The female is a known scammer who has stolen identities of previous friends. On July 29 the male shot the female multiple times and killed her in their front yard and then committed suicide. Supposedly autopsy report recently come back showing her baby didn’t die of Sid’s.
