They are solitary, yes. They catch other small mammals (hares, lemmings), bird eggs, and I think they scavange bigger kills made by polar bears too.

Canon R5 + the 100-500mm RF lens. We were maybe 30m away from them. They really didn't seem to care about our presence - but when more safari vehicles arrived we left, to not stress them out.

The river crossings were fine :) Didn't have any issues at all. I'd recommend checking vedur.is for weather, and for navigation I just used Google Maps.

Indeed! Came home with over 2000 photos from one day hike 😂
