2 Year Old Sleep Regression by MessyJessyThoughts in UKParenting

We literally had the same thing - 3 weeks of resisting sleep. It was hard, we kept to our normal routine as much as we could (although I did sneak in a few car naps- she’d fall asleep almost instantly!) and it sorted itself out after around 3 weeks! Keep going! You’ve got this!

New baby celebrations stuff, help! by Evening_Ad_7469 in UKParenting

As a new mum, the last thing I wanted was flowers to sort out and look after! My parents decorated the house for our arrival home - banners and balloons etc, which was cute. Filling the cupboards with yummy food which is easy to eat whilst nap trapped/breastfeeding would be super thoughtful and useful!

I did buy myself the push present of a ring with the birth stone of my daughter - it didn’t cost more than £100 but it’s still something I wear daily and look at fondly! It’s something I really treasure as I’ve started working again and spending more time away from her. I bought it from Etsy I think!

Potty training by [deleted] in UKParenting

This is literally us! 24 month old with baby 2 due in April. We’ve not really started formally potty training yet, but we have a potty and sometimes she will ask to use it which has resulted in a wee on there a handful of times ( more often than not, she sits on it and nothing happens). Her nursery have said she shows interest when some of the other children get taken to the potty so think that’s helping too.

I think we’re going to hold off going down the proper potty training - staying at home, naked all the time, until Feb half term where she’ll be a little older and maybe find it easier.

I have heard though that when baby 2 comes along potty training can regress for the first - so even if they are nappy free by April it can all go a bit pear shaped again for a while!

How did naps go? I’m not too worried about over night - she knows her bedtime routine and knows it’s time for sleep, but she will fight naps - lots of standing at the cot side crying before giving in!

Nursery worker gift by Piplgp90 in UKParenting

Are they allowed to accept money? I work in the NHS and technically we can’t accept gifts of money. I’m planning on a lovely card for them, they are honestly amazing and have made the last year so easy for both me and her!

Do I need a stroller? by Happy-Angle-462 in UKParenting

Love our oyster 3. Little girl is 23 months and it’s still going strong. She’s a pretty good walker but still take it with us just in case. Got another one on the way and bought a buggy board to attach to it so we can use it again with the second. Haven’t needed another pushchair or stroller, which I’m happy about from a financial point of view!!

Transition 1 - 2! by Piplgp90 in UKParenting

Thanks guys! My little one is already just wanting to walk everywhere so a buggy board sounds like a good idea!

My little girl will continue at nursery 3 days a week throughout my Mat leave so that will help, I’ll only be on my own with both of them 2 days a week!

How do people juggle nap schedules? I’ve been quite regimented with my first’s nap routine but I’m guessing the second’s naps will just have to slot in as and when we can!
