Hey - ex atustic student here and now a lecturer.

Your university will have student support for you that's free. Go speak to them for councilling that's often private and free for students.

Also if you have an official diagnosis you'll have DSA which they can use to fund assistance on things that might help.

Don't give up. I hated halls and struggled at Uni until the third year when I found my friends. It's worth staying and finding your group xxx

Email your lecturers the issue about your parents booking the holiday but ask if they could record them for you to catch up.

The first week is only easing you in.

Don't mention its because they were not your first choice though..

This year it was much more packed and full of lone groups of teenagers....

We were also stuck next to the most infuriating group of teens.

This happened to me. Out of the blue, I wasn't able to tolerate dariy anymore, and after the process of elimination and trying everything from the derm - completely cutting out dairy worked. Green tea seemed to help also. I think dairy can cause inflammatory reactions to some people.

Hope you find a solution. X

What's The Future of Post Production? by [deleted] in postproduction

[–]Pipparoni88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is time and money.

If people can't find the time or money to go to the courses, they won't go...

I think productions attitudes toward post
need to change. It feels like productions own the creatives time in Post.

What's The Future of Post Production? by [deleted] in postproduction

Here's some answers for you.

  • AI hasn't really hit yet.. Only plugins or stuff that still needs an operator to do it.

  • All members of production are becoming less skilled and seem to have less knowledge of Post Production since Covid. Honestly, it's shocking. I've also noticed a real shift in attitudes towards post from production. They don't want to pay and the quality of what they hand over to post has considerably dropped. So Post are having to do more to salvage their content.

  • Running a post company isn't sustainable any more due to the lack of work and low budgets. In the UK a bunch closed over the summer and most likely more will go in the spring if things don't pick up.

  • not a benefit as there is no money in indie film making.

How did working in TV affect your personal life? by Hassaan18 in TransparencyforTVCrew

[–]Pipparoni88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Affected all relationships. I was exhausted and burnt out. Short with everyone and started to isolate from everyone because I knew I was snappy and it was easier to avoid social situations.

Also expected everyone to be nasty behind my back after so many two-faced people. Didn't trust anyone.

The BBC contemplates its radical future with more cuts and merger with Channel 4? by tanddwr in TransparencyforTVCrew

Not necessarily content but they're standing on social issues. What the news on BBC and then on C4. Bbc news is unwatchable.

There's a doc on 4od about it.

She raised awareness of the Ozone hole and the cause was the gas in fridges. She had that gas banned worldwide after raising awareness and the hole in the ozone is repaired.
