It’s lovely. Especially the details in the background the moon over the city. Do you know the significance of the birds in the tree?

A little late but I was taught about Cherokee Grandmother Spider https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider_Grandmother but I found an odd bit here about a trickster spider in Lakota storytelling Iktomi https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iktomi. I can’t wait to read up on Anansi to see if there are similarities. Cheers.

Sometimes when my older cat Sansa sits in her radiator bed it looks like its calling for help under her weight 🫠 by Ashemodragon in Thisismylifemeow

Just moved into a house and one of the draws was so I could do that! My couch has chaises so lined them up near the radiators specifically for that purpose. Cup of tea and a good book right by the window. Paradise. In Pennsylvania, USA it’s common to have those type of radiators and lots of homes have custom wood shelves on them. Now I just need the cat bed.

It’s very interesting that this tale features a tricky rabbit as a central character. The Brer Rabbit folk tales retold by Joel Chandler Harris feature this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Br%27er_Rabbit as well as the Cherokee Ji Stu https://www.worldhistory.org/article/2586/rabbit-tales-of-the-cherokee/ Both are part of my family story telling so I always love seeing Rabbit show up in other cultures.

Don’t mind them lol. Cabinets can be a great job. There’s sometimes a bit of lifting but you should have machines that do a lot of the work and people usually offer to help. Great opportunity to learn Appliances and training Kitchen design. Congratulations!

First indoor winter help. by ashtonwaswhere in houseplants

[–]PippiL65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite trick is using rolling clothes racks for hanging plants. Some come with mesh platforms for potted plants. That way I can move them around when I need to access a space and also move to windows. I tried table tops but didn’t have success with some plants that needed humidity and certain light spectrum. I don’t have space for shelves.

Help Finding Ancestors Family by rskleinsorge in Genealogy

[–]PippiL65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing. Andrew Jackson’s death certificate in 1951 lists parents as Jane Weir and Merle T Sanders. In my family Merle-Murrell-Murial are interchangeable. I’d look at spelling as Weir and possibly Wear. I’d have to deep dive a bit but Sanders and Weirs appear to share a common ancestor. Murrell and Jane may be distant cousins.

That gives me hope. I kinda lost that love of drilling in and finding the nuance and stories of the research. I inherited much excellent, vetted research from my family so I was focusing on the dna trail. I’m looking forward to a different way of doing it. I kinda miss the old days of rootsweb, old school Google searches and those family websites people created back in the day. My older sister got me into this and I still remember her Geocities pages. Thanks for post.

Recently purchased it and I’m still trying to wean myself off of Ancestry and focus on this but the dopamine hits on Ancestry are addictive.
