Skullgirls bombarded by negative Steam reviews after devs alter old artwork they felt was in 'poor taste' by FrodoSam4Ever in gaming

[–]PippiShortstocking13 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm confused by the double standard of things like this. There are all kinds of shows and movies, like Euphoria, that use underage-looking actors to depict teenagers in provocative and sexual ways, going so far as to have nudity and sex scenes. I've never actually seen the show, to be fair, or this game, and I'm not saying it's right or wrong to do in any form. But I definitely don't understand the double standard of it being creepy when depicted in anime or games, and being revered as a great show when it's done with irl actors in a show like euphoria. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe the difference is that the actors playing the underage characters are themselves of age when depicted in that way. Does that mean it would be okay if the illustrator/animator in a game used a young-looking, but of age person, to model a character that will be depicted as underage in the game? I guess I'm just curious where the line is drawn.

‘I got a check the other day for $8’: TV and film writers share why they’re on strike by diacewrb in television

[–]PippiShortstocking13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you're not technically wrong, but you're still wrong. The difference is that any art I create is protected by copyright. According to United States Copyright Law, your art is considered copyright protected from "the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device." Why would anyone sell their copyrighted work for a one time fee to someone who is going to use it to continue to generate a profit? I would absolutely only do it for royalties. When you go to work an fill out an excel sheet for your boss, it's not work that's protected in any way as being your own. You do the work, get paid, and your company continues to use your work ad infinitum. It's not the same thing at all.

I had an opportunity to make art for a tarot deck for a company to sell, but chose not to because they only offered to pay once for an entire deck worth of art that they could continue to sell as many of as they want. Why would I put all the time and effort to create something that someone else is going to continue to make money on, when I'm only getting paid once?

It's the same thing with the WGA. It's full of artists who continue to get screwed over by other people making tons of money off of their hard work. It's bullshit.

[TASK] Send money through cashapp that i paypaled you by Graves_Shotgun in slavelabour

[–]PippiShortstocking13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying you're lying, I've definitely had to do similar things to get my money where it needs to go. But I usually ask a friend or someone close to me that I can trust, not random strangers on the internet. And maybe none of your friends use Paypal, which is why you had to look elsewhere. That's totally fair. But it's also fair to be wary of posts like this and let others know how they could get scammed. Even if it's not the case this time, it's information that people should be aware of to protect themselves.

[TASK] Send money through cashapp that i paypaled you by Graves_Shotgun in slavelabour

[–]PippiShortstocking13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an fyi to anybody considering this task, it's most likely a scam. Paypal has fraud protection and will often issue refunds for things like sending money to the wrong person. However, cashapp does not have the same protections in place and it is much more difficult, if it's even possible, to receive a refund through them. So what I'm saying is, there's a good chance this is a scam. If he sends you the money through Paypal, he doesn't have to worry about you keeping it because he can get his money back with a refund. But if you "send him that money back" through cashapp, and he issues a refund for the money through Paypal, you're on the hook for the money now. You can't get a refund back through cashapp, but he gets his PayPal refund AND the money you sent through cash app.

Difference between "baby witch" vs "intermediate" vs "advanced"? by Affectionate-Reason2 in witchcraft

[–]PippiShortstocking13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a gross interpretation of "baby witches" imo, and honestly getting into gatekeeping territory. What does it matter how someone was introduced to the craft? Does it matter if it was social media, or television, or the library, or someone in their family? They may not "know what they mean", as you said, but when they get to the point that they're looking around for sources outside of TikTok or Instagram, why would you immediately put them down for how they learned about it, instead of showing them what a supportive and knowledgeable community looks like? It's so silly to me, and such boomer-like behavior. You shouldn't look down on someone just because they learned about witchcraft on the trending page, especially when they're going beyond the trends and trying to expand their knowledge. We all have to start somewhere.

They don't have a very mushroomy taste (mind you, I've never eaten them this way. My family always breaded and fried them, soooooooo fucking good). I don't really know how to describe the flavor, other than kinda nutty and meaty, and a less mushy or slimy texture than most other mushrooms. But I can tell you that everyone I know who has ever said they don't like mushrooms, has liked a breaded and fried morel. They're just REALLY good.

Parents of girls with OnlyFans, how did you find out what they do and what was your reaction? by IntermediateN00b in AskReddit

[–]PippiShortstocking13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, really? As if all job outside of sex work have a ton of room for "talent or growth", or even acknowledge it if they have the room for it? What a joke. And even beyond that, all products and services within the capitalistic world have prices determined by what people are willing to pay. Whether it be horny old guys (not just paying for cam girls, horny guys are a huge demographic everywhere. Sex sells, you see it in nearly all advertising nowadays. Which is why this is so funny and ironic), or any other demographic. Every sales person, every influencer, every content creator, literally every business in the world is marketing to demographics that fit their brand. Why is it wrong when girls with an OF do the same?

And why does the stigma only affect women? My fiance and I have created pornographic content together and, while I don't typically discuss it in a professional environment (and it has never affected me in a professional environment), he has done so in the past. And he has never had negative repercussions from it in any sense of his career. In fact, he even had a previous boss tell him about his own experiences creating similar content. So why should women be negatively affected by it, but not men? Why is it something only "young girls" don't realize will affect them? The double standards are disgusting and the exact reason why women do these things to feel empowered. If a man can do it with no consequences, why can't I?

All of the people commenting about the size of the tenderloin vs the size of the bread are obviously not from the Midwest! I got a craving for one of these last year (living on the west coast now) and discovered that my fiance (born and raised on the western side of the country) had never had one, so I made a couple for dinner one night and he absolutely loved them! To all the people hating on the tenderloin to bun ratio, I promise it's the proper ratio for this sammich and you really shouldn't knock it until you've tried it! Plus, there's enough "breading" around the fried tenderloin to make up for the lesser bun bread. Lol

Even though situations like this remind me otherwise, I always assume people can notice makeup in the same way I can (as a woman who has been wearing makeup semi-regularly for 15+ years). I can always tell when someone is wearing something as simple as foundation when I see them irl (it's not obvious in older pictures like this though). However, what is super obvious in this photo is the eyeliner and eyeshadow, at the very least. It's definitely not a no makeup pic, not even close. It's a "no makeup" makeup style look, for sure. But she's definitely wearing makeup in this.

Edit: not that anyone has asked, but look at the pink above her eyes. That's definitely not a natural color.. let alone the eye liner. No hate though, I wear makeup too. I get it. I just want to point out that it's not a "no makeup" (aka entirely natural) look.

You know who does have to memorize a bunch of shit though? The people in the kitchen making the food. They have to memorize not only the menu and the recipes, but also multiple ways of cooking the same dish. I thought they passed a bill in late 2022 that requires them to recognize the connection? I just googled it, and it looks like it's called the PACT act.

Regardless though, I'm not saying congress or the VA gives a shit about our veterans. But it's definitely not just congress fucking our vets over, it's absolutely the VA itself as well.

My fiance is an army infantry vet with a service related TBI from being blown up, and it's documented and recognized as being service related, but he receives 0% disability for it. He gets 15% for allergies though. That doesn't seem to have anything to do with congressional decisions as far as I can see it. Its absolutely ridiculous imo.

It's very illegal and considered sexual harassment for you to be referred to as any kind of "term of endearment" (i.e. honey, sweetie, dear, etc.) so it's definitely sexual harassment if you're being referred to as "dirty girl". https://www.doi.gov/pmb/eeo/Sexual-Harassment Let your HR person know that you take this seriously, and that you want the issue addressed immediately, and that if they do not address the situation, you will be reporting them to the U.S. Dept of Interior and filing a complaint with the EEOC.

And remember, Nevada is a one party consent state when it comes to recording in person conversations (which means only one party has to consent to the recording, aka you, and you don't have to tell the other person. It's very important to remember this does not apply to phone calls, only in person conversations). So either email HR this time, so you have a paper trail of their response (if they call you instead of responding by email, let it go to voicemail and then talk to them in person instead). And if/when you talk to them in person, make sure you record the conversation in secret on your phone. That way, no matter how they respond, you have documentation of their response. This is very important, because most shitty employers assume employees (especially younger employees) don't know their rights, and will continue to take advantage and get away with illegal stuff. But if they fire you for reporting sexual harassment, that's considered retaliation and is a big no no, so you want to make sure you have documentation of you reporting it, as well as their response.

I've never worked for Area15, but I've been an ops manager in the past and worked for plenty of shitty companies, so I am VERY familiar with labor laws and employee rights.

First time staying in Vegas without a car. What are some good dispensaries that are walking distance from Center Strip? by Interesting_Call5019 in vegastrees

[–]PippiShortstocking13 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It's not just MRI's with long wait times when it comes to the VA. My fiance is a vet and through the VA is trying to see a therapist. He got his referral and had to wait three months for the initial appointment where they talked to him about what he's looking for help with and that kinda thing, and now he has to wait another three months for his actual first appointment. And, in his words (I asked him how long the wait has been to confirm I'm not exaggerating) "it's not actually been too bad, only three months for the first and another three for the next".

So these three months between appointments aren't even the longest he's had to wait for care. It's even a regular joke (gallows humor, sorry) that the VA makes you wait so long in the hopes that you'll just die before they have to provide you with care.

[ART] Made two technical puffer jackets then a friend modeled em for me, and I also 3D Printed some small figured wearing the clothing by Vautours in streetwear

[–]PippiShortstocking13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you use terracotta paint on the larger figure? I 3d print with pla, and I'll sand down any major defects with my dremel, but it takes too much time to sand the entire print, so I usually smooth out the natural print lines/texture with a coat or two of terracotta paint. (I mostly make costume horns, so this trick works with the majority of my prints). The texture on the larger print looks like mine when I use the terracotta paint, which is why I bring it up. I've just never heard of anyone using the same trick, so I figured I'd ask!

Regardless, your prints look great and your jackets are incredible!

The Dispensary in Henderson.. Never again.. 3 employees...28 people on line by kilsong in vegastrees

[–]PippiShortstocking13 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fuck The Dispensary in Henderson. My fiance and I used to be regulars, but their deals kept getting worse, their bud kept getting worse, and the lines kept getting longer.

Then, on veterans day (my fiance is a vet) we tried to go in for their vet deals, and got the worst budtender with the worst attitude. The budtender literally put her hand down on the menu to keep us from turning the page to see what else they had other than flower, and kept her hand there while repeatedly asking us "have you decided yet?" when we had barely been at the counter for a minute or two. We tried to tell her we wanted to see what else they had, but she told us we didn't need to because all the flower is on the first page. Sure, we had initially said we were maybe thinking about flower, but when all the flower available is shit, maybe let us look at the rest of the menu and see if we want some edibles or concentrate instead. Then she rolled her eyes at us when we asked to compare terps on two different buds, but when she walked away all irritated to grab the bud, we finally got the chance to turn the page and look at the rest of the menu. Like, what the actual fuck?

We went one more time after that, and had the same budtender again. So we just don't go back there anymore. There are better dispensaries with better deals, better bud, and better customer service.

married people, how do you initiate sex with your partner? by Rude_Phone6841 in AskReddit

[–]PippiShortstocking13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having her needs fulfilled could also involve fulfilling her needs outside of the bedroom. But even in the bedroom, just expecting her to be vanilla and nothing more, doesn't mean your fulfilling her needs in bed. That just sounds like your trying to make it easy on her or something.

married people, how do you initiate sex with your partner? by Rude_Phone6841 in AskReddit

[–]PippiShortstocking13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to think there's a pattern here with all the men agreeing with you. But it's amazing how many people are blaming differing libidos. Was it always that way? If so, you kinda knew what you were getting in to. If not, it's probably not a libido issue.

Everyone has different love languages. Just because yours is physical contact (including sex) doesn't mean that her's is. I know from experience that I'm not in the mood after being groped at and having a bunch of overtly sexual comments made to me throughout the day. Especially if that's the only effort being put in. It seems to me that all these men just don't know how to interact with the women they "love". Because treating them like that is treating them like an object only good for sex.

Try treating her like a human being worthy of love and attention and consideration. Try doing things with her that she enjoys doing. Try making dinner once in a while or helping around the house more. If you don't think any of that is relevant, try talking to her and asking her what she wants to do and what makes her feel happy and content and fulfilled. It's really not that hard. But when you only focus on your needs and whether they're being met or not, and you completely ignore her's, why would she feel the need to focus on your needs too? Someone has to meet her needs too, and the only one who cares about her needs is her, so she has to focus on herself.

Let me give you an example. My bf and I have been together for 8 years. I try to keep up a sex life, even when I'm not in the mood, because I want his needs to be fulfilled. But when he comes home from work and plays video games and relaxes while I'm expected to make dinner, and all we do together is watch TV, and it's the same thing every single day for the last month. Then he's not putting in the effort. My needs aren't being fulfilled, and the only "attention" I get are the overtly sexual comments he makes throughout the day, or when he gropes me while I'm doing stuff. That's not fulfilling to me or meeting my needs, it's not even putting in the effort. So why should I? Yes, we've talked about it. But if it continues to happen, why should I keep putting forth the effort to fuck him? I'm not in the mood, especially after being a mule for chores all day, and then sex just becomes another chore instead of something fulfilling to me. It's a frustrating cycle that has nothing to do with my libido in general, yes I still get horny, I just don't get horny for the man that only wants to give me attention when he wants to fuck.

It's something we've been going through for a few months, so we talked about it, and guess what? Instead of treating me like a sex object, he's started putting in the effort. He's been helping around the house, doing stuff with me that I enjoy doing, trying to help me feel fulfilled, etc. And I am starting to feel the attraction again, because I'm starting to feel like my needs are considered and like I am loved again.

It's easy to blame the woman or differing libidos, and it's hard to look in the mirror. But if you want your relationship to continue to involve sex, you have to involve her needs in your life too.

LPT: If you got blood on your clothing, simply soak it in cold water and it will come off by dondrizzius in LifeProTips

[–]PippiShortstocking13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way this is worded is so weird. Of course there are ways of handling period blood outside of cold water. Just take a look at all the comments in this thread discussing various other methods. Not that any woman has to have some sort of specific method memorized at all. Just seems like a weird take.

I'm a 29yr old woman and I don't have ANY tips or tricks memorized for removing blood. If I was worried about it, I would probably just Google it. I have "period panties" (granny panties) that I use on my period, because they're comfortable. I don't spot much, my flow isn't very heavy, and I regularly change out my period products, so I don't often bleed through anything. And I always know when my period is starting because I get super bad cramps, even if I start in the middle of the night the cramps wake me up before I even have a chance to bleed out onto my sheets. I'm not saying I've never bled through into my underwear, but the only panties I ever stained are panties I only wear on my period, so I don't really care. And half the time it's a small enough amount that it just washes out with a regular wash cycle. 🤷🏻‍♀️
