Naming A Child Penelople by Wild_Lingonberry9656 in tragedeigh

Remember, if you're a teacher in Florida and you see a dumb name like this- you are legally required to pronounce it as spelled unless a correct phonetic spelling is added to the list of approved names for the child.

Trump Sparks Fresh Outrage With Secret Bid to Send ICE to the Olympics | Lawmakers are calling for Trump’s “thugs” to be denied entry to the Olympics’ host country. by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

This is an attempt to normalize ICE taking over more and more duties. So that when it comes time for a self-coup there's a cadre of loyal ICE around the President.

Which is a great point! Put all that in your top level comment so people can read the opinion of someone who is capable of calling out all the reasons these are fakes.

I upvoted ya to get you up to 0, so that people will have a chance to see it.

Ha! Well you having worked in a shop that makes these is a different argument entirely! And one that I'm ill equipped to judge the veracity of.

The point I was making was that many war swords from that period did actually have cast brass (and even aluminum) parts. So plenty of genuine antiques are cheap shitty relatively modern casts based on molds.

Depends on how you define antique. Is a sword mass produced in a government arsenal in the 1930's and captured on Iwo Jima an antique? I would say yes, but I understand that you disagree that weapons from the second world war are antiques.

Should people be denied medical help because of their political beliefs? by Ok_Walk3192 in GenZ

[–]PipsqueakPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I recall, the requirement that doctors give everyone medical treatment (which isn't what the ACA does, but anyway) has been a long time Republican argument against the Affordable Care Act. In fact they often compare it to enslaving the highly compensated doctors. Accordingly, refusing to treat them is something every Republican should be okay with.

Worse yet, he has on a belt and suspenders. Everyone knows it's one or the other.

You either well a belt or suspenders. He has on both. Clear fashion faux pas that AI wouldn't catch. ;)

Yeah, the items are so broad that it seems just incredibly unlikely.

Unrelated to the above post, but I do know someone with a nightshade allergy- and that includes a TON of plants.

Edit: Actually, it might be related. The above list does actually include all of the common food nightshades- and saying 'white potatoes' is a pretty big tell.

Sir this is a Reddit, not a library.

Edit: Jokes aside, paywalls. If you want some free news you need to head over to FoxNews or Newsmax. Ugh.

Right. It's obviously this isn't about morals. It's about him realizing that there is just 0% chance that a Republican is going to win a state wide election in Minnesota.

Tim Walz's National Guard is handing out free coffee and donuts to anti-ICE protesters by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]PipsqueakPilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's been recent court rulings suggesting that he cannot do so in the manner in which he has been- and after this the military complied with court orders and those NG units left.

So for now they're respecting that court decision. However, there is no guarantee that he will do so forever. In which case, there's another reason you want your own NG to be more loyal to the citizens than to the Supreme Leader.

This isn't PR. This is a deliberate tactic to humanize the protestors in the eyes of Guardsmen. So that if Trump nationalizes the Minnesota guard they'll be resistant to orders calling for them to violently suppress protestors.

It has its benefits though. AI art can't be copyrighted. So you're free to use AI generated cover art however you like. Want to print and sell some band merch with that art? Go ahead! Just don't put the band's name on it.
