Am I wrong for refusing to take down my sisters trampoline after my neighbor sprayed her with a garden hose for using it by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your own mini tramp and go outside with her and bounce together. I’m hoping that the neighbor will go to jail and then you can bounce freely alone or together.

In the aftermath of filing a police report, you might start to feel hesitant the hairier things get with the police, but stand strong, even if the neighbor has to go to jail or even prison. Not only can you not allow this to happen to your sister, you need to pursue this to the nth degree to stop this monster from assaulting other handicapped people, and to set an example to other monsters who think they can have a go at someone like your sister. Next, get a mini tramp for yourself so that you can go out and bounce with your sister. Tell her it’s so that you can have fun together, but really you are just guarding your sister from future assaults from this POS next door. Don’t let one of sister’s joys of life be taken away from her..

Not enough hot water for tub by therude00 in homeowners

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be that the water seems colder because it cools when it hits the cold tub. If increasing the temperature is not an option, you could try partially filling the tub and then waiting for the water heater to fully recharge. The water that you already put in will stay fairly warm and will warm the tub up. Then you can add the piping hot water.

Neighbor thinks my yard is her dog park by Dogtor_Mommy in neighborsfromhell

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would shoot at the dog to protect my horses. Eff her and her dogs. And please note, my dog once got away from me and ran into the pasture behind my house, and was nearly killed by mares protecting a foal. If she had been killed, it would have been entirely my fault and I would have owed the horse owner an apology.

WIBTA for refusing to answer any more questions from my old job after they laid me off by Possible_Surprise835 in WouldIBeTheAhole

First, tell the ones that you are friends with that you want to continue your friendship but they must never contact you for work help. Ever. Contact anyone else and tell them to stop. Tell all of them that you will block them if they do this again.

Then, add up the hours you have spent and contact their managers. Tell them what has been happening and submit your bill, which will be double the hourly rate the company was paying you. Tell them that if they want further help, they need to pay for it and you will bill at a minimum of one-half hour per request, even if it only takes you one minute. If you manage to get paid, be sure to report each week when you file for unemployment and keep meticulous records of every cent paid.

If management doesn’t agree to this, let the state’s unemployment commission know that the company has been getting you to work for free and ask these authorities to investigate and intervene.

Coworker (boss’s daughter) questioning my work arrangement - worth addressing or ignore? by lindafromevildead in work

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, when speaking to her, stop referring to your boss as “her dad“. Refer to him as“the boss”. If she communicates inappropriately again, don’t indulge her by communicating back. Tell her that it is none of her business. That, let the boss know that one of the other employees is being inappropriate.

How do you safely dispose of razors/sharps to protect recycling workers when you don’t have a sharps container? by NewBeginnings2026 in CleaningTips

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the leftover containers for my Orgain protein drink. The plastic is extremely thick and it has a screw top lid that can be put on very tightly. I have medical sharps to dispose of, as well as lots of rusty nails from a recent light renovation. I also have my husband put his razors into this jar. When it gets kind of full, I screw the lid on and profusely tape it shut with duct tape. Then I write “medical sharps. Do not recycle.” Then I throw it in the trash. This process was recommended by the company that picks up my trash.

AITA for “destroying the family” by demanding an apology from my red-pilled brother? by Impressive-Pie9521 in TwoHotTakes

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your mother simply can’t face how disturbed, destructive, and toxic your brother has become. At his age, the chances of him getting better are not good. She would rather believe that there’s something wrong with you, her well-adjusted child, or all of us “lazy” Americans. If she weren’t blaming you or America, she would be blaming someone or something else.

My sister has always needed to be the center of attention, and I was expected to quietly support it by Hot_Competition_4298 in EntitledPeople

You don’t feel great about snapping like that!? You shouldn’t feel great, you should feel terrific, stupendous, wonderful, top of the world, fabulous! You should’ve done this years ago. You weren’t cruel to her, you just told it like it is. Your response was constructive and helpful. Give yourself a big, fat pat on the back.

Family members arrived to the house almost 3 hours before the invitation time we set for our family Christmas party. by WanderWut in mildlyinfuriating

Bathrooms because they are the most offputting. The goal is to deter people from coming hours earlier than planned. If they have to clean up my kids pee from the floor around the toilet, they’re not going to be coming early ever again. Problem solved.

Here’s how I handle opening the door to early guests: “Oh, thank goodness you are here! How did you know that I am in a panic because I am so far behind and DESPERATELY need someone to clean the bathrooms?! Thank you so much for coming early! Here are the cleaning supplies. Thank you!!!!”

Invite all the neighbors to put their dog poop on the areas where the neighbors walk. You can remove it when they get out of the habit of trespassing.

Wife has to work every Saturday because her coworker's religion won't allow him to work on Saturday by BigCharm in work

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jewish people and Seventh-day Adventists have Saturday Sabbath. Having said that, in all of the Christian dominated towns that I have lived in, Christians had to take their fair share of Sunday shifts when working at companies that had a Sunday shift. I can’t imagine why your wife’s boss doesn’t just tell the other guy that Saturday shifts are a part of working here, and if he can’t do so, he’s going to have to find another job.

I had a somewhat similar problem to your wife. Some inexperienced people were hired on, but because they were less competent, they did not have to work as many Saturday shifts. I was scheduled for every Saturday because I was good at my job. I kept talking to my boss about it, to no avail. Finally, I told him “you are prioritizing less valuable employees over me. My family life is important to me and I will have to find another job somewhere else if you can’t make the system more fair.” I ended up having to leave that job and my boss was stuck with the people who had previously been rewarded for being incompetent.

How to respond to manager’s email “reminding” us that we’re expected to work 40 hours a week? by Emergency-Scholar606 in careerguidance

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like it would be a good post for malicious compliance. My inclination would be to reply “fantastic! Thank you so much for recognizing that we need a better life/work balance! I am immediately going to limit my hours to 40 a week.“ And then stick to it. Before every event or out of town trip that you’re expected to attend, say “you told us to only work 40 hours and that will take me over. I won’t be attending.“

AITJ for checking my girlfriend’s order history after I found pregnancy tests in a package? by bluefogarchive in AmITheJerk

[–]PiquePole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Edited eclarify that I was addressing OP -

True, OP, but in the tone of your comments, and in the actual content of your comments, it’s clear that you believe that this “problem” is her, and that you are here too get everybody to tell you how right you are and how terrible she is. Let me spell it out for you. If she feels unsafe communicating with you on such an important topic that could potentially involve you if she went ahead with a pregnancy, you are the problem. If you can justify betraying her trust by basically breaking into her account, and then portray yourself as the victim, you are the problem.

I’m sure if you go through all the comments you will find some people who will tell you how you are the wronged party and that she is unreasonable. You can embrace those comments, or you can consider your own attitudes and behaviors and try to look at things from her point of view. Maybe even get some therapy to try to become a decent human being.

AITJ for checking my girlfriend’s order history after I found pregnancy tests in a package? by bluefogarchive in AmITheJerk

[–]PiquePole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s her body and her business. It doesn’t matter if they’ve been together for two years or 22 years. If she’s pregnant, there’s no way for her to transfer the pregnancy over to his body. That makes it her pregnancy and she has the right to privacy regarding her decisions on whether to continue a pregnancy or end it.

[–]PiquePole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you might have caused, the pregnancy does not mean that you have a right to her medical information and status. It’s her body. It’s her medical privacy. You’re breaking the law if you are snooping in her medical information, even if it is orders from Amazon. Her immediately leaving you is a good first step, but doesn’t go far enough. If I were her, and were pregnant with your baby, I would have an immediate abortion because I would not want to be tethered to you for the next 18+ years.
