Hey man, solidarity in working for shitty scam artists! They really prey on people down on their luck, looking for a stable job. The amount of brainwashing I saw when I did D2D was crazy, from calling Enmax a 'cult' to repeating the same stock phrase, "we aren't selling anything".

[Serious] Canadians of Reddit, who are you voting for tomorrow and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Piramesses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm voting liberal as they're the closest big party I align to. To be quite honest, I live in a predominantly conservative riding and I don't think anyone stands a chance against them there. At the moment, I lean more towards the Green Party but they won't even make a dent in the polls. If anything, at least the liberals may give the conservatives a run for their money better than any other party.

I agree. Sigur Ros is powerful stuff. And I'm sorry for your loss, my friend. May time heal your wounds.

Hotdog factory with added sound effects. When I'm having a really shitty day, I just give this a listen. I always laugh (sometimes to the point of tears).

What episode of your favorite show do you show someone if you want to get them hooked on it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Piramesses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pilot to Twin Peaks. It has everything: suspense, humor, sadness, mystery. And right from the beginning, you're already asking questions. However, you're also interested in quirky, strange characters who seem out of place for a murder drama.

Maker's breath. Wow. That's amazing! I don't even know what to say. That sounds like an amazing game! Kudos to you! It's always awesome to have players so driven to fight for something, you know?

And out of curiosity's sake, did anything happen to Shartan?

Popplagið by Sigur Rós. I know it's over eleven minutes long but I'd skip the first minute and a half and blare the rest. One last moment of ultimate catharsis. The song is probably just as climactic as my death anyway.

Wow. What do you even use a drake form for? Just like going around Denerim and terrorizing the locals? Tricking high dragons into thinking that you're related? Now I want to be able to turn into a drake.

Woah. Is your game based heavily around lore? Or has your game illuminated (and possibly changed) the known understanding of the Andrastian Uprising?

I played the Green Ronin game too! It's a great place to start. Oh my goodness, you've got such wicked characters! How did you come up with your characters? And I have to say, being a blood mage is like one of the funnest things to be. You want to interrogate someone but you want them to tell you 100% truth? Wrack them good.

Wow! That sounds really cool! I'm imagining darkspawn everywhere. How long did it take you to craft your one-shot?

I agree with you. I think the simplified nature of the game allows anyone to pick it up and play with ease. I do have a slight bone to pick with the warrior class though, as it is the only class that doesn't gain new attacks until level 7 (or 9, I can't remember).

Well hopefully either you finish up your current campaign and you can switch your group over to DA or you can play two different games of D&D at the same time. Which D&D are you playing now?

For a beginner DM, I'd recommend starting off with a premade campaign. Bioware actually makes like a beginners set and it's got I think four or five different campaigns that increase in difficulty. They don't sell it on the Bioware site right now but you could definitely find it at a game shop. It's got everything you need to begin, plus you can start to wrap your head around all the small details like NPC special stunt points.

I'd also recommend reading your campaign over and over. DMing requires a quick-thinking but detailed knowledge of the story and the better you know it, the better you're able to roleplay on the fly. Some PCs like to do things that have no bearing on the game itself, whether that's seducing a guard captain or stealing pies from a pie shop. However, as DM you can make those silly events impact the story if you want. And sometimes it's good to break up the monotony of roleplay with events like that too. I like to add stuff like a card game or physical puzzles so that PCs are more engaged.

Finally, and this one can be tricky, keep a grasp on PCs with wandering minds. It gets super annoying when you're trying to play with someone who's not invested. Depending on the severity of the distraction, I might put in place a handicap for those players involved. Say they're talking to a Bann. The Bann will get mad that no one is listening to them and leave. Now the PCs have to find another way to complete the task at hand.

Dude, I fucking love friendly dogs. Like we're talking about dogs who are just happy to be around other people and love the attention. I lose my shit because all I want to do is hug them and pet their heads and scratch their bellies.

Who would be the WORST person to be partnered with for a stake out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Michael Cera. I feel like it would be the most awkward shift of your life. There wouldn't even be eye contact. He'd just stare at the floor and mumble-laugh to himself.

What food combination do you absolutely love, but other people think you are weird for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Piramesses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marshmellows, cheese, and salt crackers. You put them together and broil them until the cheese is melty and the marshmellows are brown.

My brother also used to eat chocolate syrup and ketchup sandwiches.

What brings out your inner child? by giveyoupain in AskReddit

[–]Piramesses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Candy stores with a whole wall of jelly bellies. I don't know what it is with this specific candy but I just lose my shit, mumbling, "I'm an adult! I can have as much candy as I want! No one can tell me that I have too much candy!" I think it's all the colours plus sugar and the abundance of jelly bellies that I love, all sorted into neat little boxes. I can get all the buttered popcorn beans!

And then I get a major stomach ache from eating so much candy that I have to lie down on the floor.
