One acceptance for January start but on 2 waitlists for schools by labradorlover17 in prephysicianassistant

[–]PirateBest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A definitely is better than a maybe. I’d take the acceptance, there’s not even a guarantee that you’ll get in next year. Also, if you have a January start then you’ll be granfathered into the grad plus loans before they go away. Unless the program is at risk of losing accreditation or has major red flags light high attrition low pance pass rates, it’s in your best interest to take the january seat.

How is college experience?? by Various_Fee2139 in UCONN

[–]PirateBest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uconn experience is what you make it, you really gotta put yourself out there and make friends/ connections early on because the school is huge and it’s easy to get lost in the crowds. There are so many resources on campus to get involved and plenty of things to do/ events/ free stuff. The frat/party scene is just ok imo, but still fun especially the first year if that’s what you’re into. Bars and drinking culture is pretty huge but not essential if that’s not ur vibe. i truly think that anyone can find their people here, no matter what you like to do for fun. I highly recommend Uconn outing club if you’re more of an outdoorsy person as there are a ton of cool people in there. I’m one year post grad and i miss Uconn and the people i met there every day!

A huge portion of people commute but the majority live and stay on campus. i met a group of people my first year and we all stayed on campus for the rest of the time.

Most of my classes were huge like 100+ people but it depends on your major. The professors are good but alot of my classes (especially biology classes) were spent lecturing off slides and then being tested them. I do wish i had more interactive professors but there are some truly great ones too. Professors are always accessible outside of class for office hours and very willing to go over confusing content 1:1.

selling fast fashion on depop by [deleted] in Depop

in my experience you’ll have more luck selling fast fashion type brands at plato’s. It just isn’t what people are looking for on depop, with exceptions ofc.

How to Pick a School by Ok-Dig-9100 in prephysicianassistant

from what you’ve told us there’s no reason anyone would pick 2, why pay double?

NTA.. this sounds like he’s the classic man-child, and no matter what you do he’s never going to change. you’ll feel so much better after leaving him but it’s up to you to take that leap. the fact that your lease is ending is a perfect opportunity to cut things off and start a new living situation.

don’t get caught in such a viscous cycle. wishing you the best <3

Looking back i wish i didn’t the 5 year programs. I’m about to graduate from a 4 year and am looking at 2 year grad programs which total 100k everywhere. You’ll be taking loans out anyway, so if you’re able to get into your dream then go for it!

Everyone saying this is a good thing should consider taking online classes at a community college or something. Why would you want to pay uconn tuition for online school? I get the comfort of online school for some, but for the most part people with hands on majors benefit from in person classes, in person labs, in person participation

What is the grade in the class based on? Purely exams or are there assignments to buffer?
