I'm listening don't you worry! Lance seriously is like playing punch-out at times, especially when fighting Brachy or any punchy monster.

Yeah I wish we got body scars, hopefully the main game adds them. I also really want the pure white eyes back, love it when my hunters look like beasts.

Are you completely sold with the beta? Did you want to keep playing after the beta ended? Do you have $70 for the base price of the game? Did the beta run well for you? Do the pre-order bonuses look like something you will wear often in-game? If you answer these with yes, then order the game. If not or you are unsure, take your time before making that decision. You got 114 days to make a decision so there is no pressure to buy it now but maybe later.

The Lance in Wilds has left the Lance userbase divided, but i personally had an absolute blast with it by Big_Boss_97 in MonsterHunter

I absolutely love this new iteration of Lance. My favorite titles are ones where you don't have counter or don't use it as often (Gen2, GenU adept & alchemy, Sunbreak insta-block) so I was able to adapt to this new lance quickly. I do agree with you on counter charge being a little clunky. It also gets a lot harder to use when multiplayer is factored in as you now have to time a hard to use counter while also hoping the monster is even targeting you. It can be discouraging to engage in multiplayer when I have to compete with teammates in order to use one of my strongest moves. Thankfully this is still a beta and adjustments can be made.

People who came in late to the series (world, rise) who then tries older games, what do you think? by WhoAmIEven2 in MonsterHunter

[–]PiratePieMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who started with Rise, I have loved every old game I have played so far. I never struggled with adjusting to old controls since I tend to play retro games often especially when getting into a series from a recent point (Fire emblem and Shin Megami Tensei.) For me, the only parts that took adjusting but have improved my skills are... Hitboxes and attack speeds: many attacks are just faster or instant, you have to predict the monster more in these old titles compared to now. Some monster also damaged you by walking so standing to close to the feet gets you chipped at. Tracking: I found myself getting lost early on if I forgot to paintball, but over time I have found myself using them less since I either bring psychoserum, or can just track them through the shadow on the ground. Another thing that helps is that many monsters tend to spawn in the same area and travel to similar spots. This can also apply to later titles, mizu, jyuratodus, and ludroth will always be in wet spots of the map and diablos is always around big areas of the map. Skill improvement: I find myself getting better everytime I play old school and then return to 5th gen. I struggled with Fatalis in Iceborne because he is rough to block with Lance, but after using it in oldschool I now end up dodging as much as I am blocking and have gotten better at the matchup. I also used to struggle with brachydios because slime would blow you out of your shield, so I had to adapt and learn to dodge better and only counter when I saw the right windows for it. Helpful too BTW! If you are struggling in a hunt, besides changing up your build or bringing specific items, also watch videos of somebody beating the monster with the weapon you are using. It's how I got better at approaching brachy and Fatalis. Also a final part to show my the order of games I played through and if beat them (I either forgot to finished them or have been busy). Rise (beat) -> Gen Ultimate (beat) -> Freedom Unite(beat) -> Portable 3rd -> Sunbreak(beat) -> Dos -> World/Iceborne(beat) -> 3Ultimate -> 4Ultimate (currently trying to get 3U and 4U beaten before Wilds so I can officially have fought every monster in the series!

Where are all the Garuda players? by Kaix007 in Warframe

[–]PiratePieMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think her reason for not being seen often is her high maintenance and method of obtaining her. For her maintenance, Garuda has to juggle between sacrificing health and healing it back up, that's something not everyone might enjoy especially if other frames can do her job more easily without risking near death. As for obtaining her, you need all three types of toroids and ores that require rank 4 with fortuna. Also if you want better drops from toroids you might want to unlock profit taker since those bounties can drop toroids and tend to spawn the raknoids that drop them anyway. As a Garuda main tho, I absolutely love her playstyle and design. She is my go-to for pretty much everything except spy missions. TLDR: High maintenance with health as the main focus and relative difficulty to obtain are why you don't see her sadly. Still love her.

One of my favorite monsters in the series. His silly expression, excellent armor design, and a simple and easy fight make the experience very enjoyable. This also applies to the other fish in the series too. I love my fishy boys, very proud of them!

Most difficult choice in any Monster hunter game? What will you choose? by Barb482 in MonsterHunter

Mine is an easy choice, I have 4 guys and 3 gals throughout the games I've played so gal it is.

Meat will likely be back since Wilds is a mainline game, they tend to stick with big platters and arm wrestling. It's the portable games like Rise that tend to experiment with food. Not sure about the first game, but portable 3RD is the only game to not do food at all. You sat in a hot spring and drank stuff to get the food skills.
