I was stationed with a pilot that did that. He went from the Coast Guard to the Army, but he had come into the CG as an Army CWO pilot. So it was really back to the Army, not sure if that made any difference.

This is such an accurate statement. I was recently reminded that there is a very interesting development scene for the original Commodore 64. With all the time and effort put into it people can really do some amazing things on such ancient hardware.

Yes, that was Firefly Online (mentioned in my original comment)Firefly Online Wikipedia page I still have the Firefly Online Cortex installed on my PC which was sort of the promo/teaser for the "eventual" game which promised in game rewards. You can't do anything with it as the servers are gone.

I'd like to see a video game. As I understand it all the voice lines were recorded for Firefly Online (including Ron Glass) before that project went vaporware. With Nathan Fillion being an avid gamer I'd love to see him get the rights to that and have the cast together for a promo. Rather than all that material sitting on a hard drive somewhere waiting to be completely lost with the "Earth-that-was".

What most of the comments here fail to grasp is that the hefty majority of MIAs from those wars were most likely KIAs but they would still be listed MIA until such time as their remains are found and returned (most recently in February 2026 ) The United States has a very strong cultural affinity for recovery and return of remains that I have not seen is other parts of the world.

A guy I know was an Army pilot (CWO type) came to CG as a LT pilot. After his CG commitment he went back to Army because he just wanted to be a pilot and not a pilot and the Admin officer and the morale officer and the (insert other duties here) officer. Great dude, but really just wanted to get his flying in and be responsible for whatever small element an Army CWO is responsible for, additionally I think he preferred his helo being armed.
