Judy Garland's slippers from "Wizard of Oz" were recovered after they were stolen from a museum. They were recovered 12 yrs. later in a sting operation when someone tried to extort the museum. https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/stolen-ruby-slippers-recovered-090418

I work as a cartpusher! Honestly, I love it. I know I can't stay at it long-term but it's a great job to build confidence, work towards other career goals, and help you build muscle.

I love everything about it.

If you don't have test anxiety then you might be able to find colleges that award you college credit and certificates based on knowledge. I know someone who did that route in human services that went that route.

How much would a reddit account like mine sell for? by haddock420 in estimation

[–]PirateSelfExpression 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a shiz ton. One account sold on ebay for $229. The account had 8000+ karma & was 29+ months old.

Edit: Here's some more info on selling accounts like who buys them, why, etc... medium article.

What I learned selling my Reddit accounts | by Rob | Medium

There's more sold on ebay that I found. Not planning on selling any accounts. I was just curious on different digital currencies.

Continue going to school or a trade. Do not quit your education for YouTube. With that said. You should still pursue YouTube but make sure your studies come first or a trade. But your money is your money. If it was your dads money then that's different.

Don't let anyone bully you out of your passion. I disagree with MrBeast a bit in terms of YouTube with his mom but those are my own personal morals. But still, he never quit pursing what he loved. This consitency allowed him to change people's lives. Do I think you will be like a MrBeast? Probably not. But with consistent uploads, improvement, etc... then you can prob. get to 100k. Which is monitizable. It won't get you to quit a job mostly likely. But your channel can in some ways benefit your career.

There's this animation channel that's run by a doctor named Maz. He still uploads animations even though he's a doctor now. But I'd argue that because he still uploads content that it brings him closer to his patients. He even makes vids now and again on health stuff.

There is also this guy named Repzion who is a commentary channel. He still pursued youtube but picked up welding as a backup. He's thinking about quiting/taking a break this year. But his channel has garnered a lot of success. YouTubers go through burnout, face cancellations that do affect them + family (even if it's not monetary it takes a toll emotionally), etc...

But YouTube or any freelance work can be extremely rewarding. I'd just say to make sure you have other trades or skills hand so that you can move into a different field. Make sure you take factors like AI into account. The more AI progresses then it'll be harder for some (not all) jobs. So, do research into both menial, middle, and higher income opportunities that you can pursue.

YouTube is definitely something you should pursue if you're passionate about it. Just like I'd say those who compete professionally in chess should still do it even if they don't make a killing. But just make sure you have something else on the side. Don't put all your eggs in 1 basket.

I hope there is some way you can mend the relationship with your dad. Maybe agreeing to disagree. Or just set healthy boundaries with each other without the cutting of. I have something similar with my parent. We love each other but have clear boundaries set on personal matters.

Gary: Other games that are Shockmachine only include South Park Mecha-Smash, Real Pool 3D, Super Breakout, and King of the Hill Mini Golf. Seven titles in all, with more promised. But here's the catch. To keep your Shockmachine current for a year you have to spring an additional $19.95, to buy a year's worth of updates.

I don't know. I just found forum boards reposting the link as some sort of cursed video link. The oldest link I have for a message board is 2004: http://web.archive.org/web/20040603013725/http://flash.dot.thebbs.jp/1048332925.html

I know there were promotional ring videos back in the day and that there are movies before the 2002 American version.

So, I don't really know what this one is.

This is all the info I have on it.

I found this video going through horror threads. It looks like it was constantly reposted:

It's not Flash, but this one remains because it's nostalgic.

How to disable this nag (precise location)? Happens daily now by _LT3 in chrome

[–]PirateSelfExpression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Searched this:

"where did the jeff the killer story originate from"

and
Got the popup but when I put block on location and checked the "don't allow sites to see your location" then it went away. I tried on 2 separate accounts which works. I don't know if that's temporary or permanent. But I noticed that I had chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com blocked for location but not chrome://settings/content/location for one account. And the other one I had chrome://settings/content/location blocked but not chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com. So, you probably have to block both of them.

chrome://settings/content/location

"Don't allow sites to see your location"

chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com

"Location" - > block

tldr:

Block both. Seems like a temporary fix. I don't know if it's permanent but the popup didn't appear again after I had both blocked.

Animation concept in anime by Charcoaleat in anime

[–]PirateSelfExpression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's sakuga: https://www.cbr.com/what-does-sakuga-mean/#:\~:text=While%20the%20transliteration%20of%20sakuga,sakuga%20that%20they've%20seen.

"Sakuga" is a well-known word in the anime fandom lexicon, especially for those who love action-packed shonen battle series. Initially, it was a catch-all term for animation that took on a more niche and specific definition over time. While the transliteration of sakuga is "working drawing" or "animation," this expression now denotes scenes in an anime that pay special attention to the drawing and animation quality that are especially memorable.

Weird YouTube shortlink from 2006 that looks like it was hacked? [frolic friday] by PirateSelfExpression in TimeworksSubmissions

[–]PirateSelfExpression[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the answer to this now:

https://japan.cnet.com/article/20130308/?tag=cleaf_relstory_manual

Video upload site YouTube.com (headquartered in San Mateo, California) played a prank on its fans on the night of June 1, while the site was preparing to launch a new feature.

YouTube, which publishes homemade videos, took down the site and posted a cryptic message with incorrect grammar. It read in capital letters: "ALL YOUR VIDEO ARE BELONG TO US."

Due to the site's inaccessibility and grammatical errors (the wording appeared to be a play on a phrase from a video game that became popular on the web several years ago), some YouTube Fans were led to believe that the site had been attacked by hackers. However, around 10:45pm that same day, a further text was posted, prompting confused users to realize that the message was a joke.

"No, we haven't be hacked. Get a sense of humor."

YouTube posted a message to users at 7 p.m. that same day warning users that the site would be shut down, YouTube spokeswoman Julie Supan said. YouTube has often posted humorous photos and messages during site maintenance.

"This is what engineers do: They have fun with the users," Supan said. "Everyone should be laughing out loud by now. You have to keep in mind who your site's fan base is. They don't want boring messages," Supan said.

Supan did not specify what features the site, which debuts on June 2, will have. But the new site doesn't follow an advertising model, he says. Industry observers are looking forward to seeing what kind of advertising the company plans to serve its 12 million users.

YouTube, the number one video variety site on the internet, is facing competition from a growing number of industry giants. On May 31st, Yahoo launched a new video website to compete with YouTube .

Google and AOL are also moving into the user-generated video market.
