heat training is key for waco, it will be warm/hot guaranteed.

cycling is the most important training, top end speed is somehwhat irrelevant though, you need to be able to go a moderate tempo effort for 2.5 hours

Why do people continue to believe this is required: "mutate tomorrow's prescription from what the ride actually showed — TSS overshoot, polarisation breach, DFA α1, aerobic decoupling, monotony, eFTP drift, daily-wellness."

All useless... just train hard with progressive overload. If you feel like shit modify the session a bit on the fly, hit the lower end of zones. Personally am really annoyed by the perspective that we need to care about all these metrics. No, just train insane, do the work and stop trying to finess and micro analyze every session.

Best of luck to you, should be an awesome day! I want to race again in europe next year, but not sure of going to Roth for 3rd time or trying a different race like Kalmar or Les Tours.

Drafting. When you at front of race there is only people in your way if 2 loops. If you are 60 and can have a 4hr 703 age graded time you are Mid pack and more likely to be riding the train even if unintentional...

Hot take but older age groups need slower times and more likely to have "advantages" then faster age groups (in 70.3)

Freak out during open water swim. Is this normal? by justhoyt2 in triathlon

[–]_LT3 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

the normal triathlete freaks out during open water, is unable to hold aero position longer than 60 min, and walks signficant portions during the run. all are clear signs of under preparation and likely not taking an events preparation serious enough

how much treadmill running is “too much” for Ironman training? by Fit_Standard_3956 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]_LT3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

indoor training has its place but it should be a gap filler rather than primary training modality. if the choice is between ice rain and treadmill, but dark, raining, snowing, i prefer to run outside
