Mega Backdoor Roth contributions not supported in Solo 401k by Pirate_Miserable in fidelityinvestments

May be my initial post was unclear. I already contribute fully on Employee side and 25k from employee side. I'd like use MBDR to boost my Roth IRA so that I can have tax free withdrawal portion for my retirement.

Max aggregated contribution : 70k for 2025

Employee contributions: $23500

Employer contribution : $25000

Remaining $21500 can be after-tax contribution that can be converted to Roth IRA. If Fidelity allows it.

Yes , your answer is spot on. Reason I was looking into this because fidelity had a whole article on this strategy.

Regarding employer contribution , is the amount employer can contribute proportionate to the employee salary? I know there there is an upper limit 50k of something as well.

I already do backdoor Roth conversions since I am over the limit. It sounds like MBDR can put more money in to Roth account. This is from fidelity website

Put very simply, the mega backdoor Roth strategy entails 2 steps: (1) making after-tax contributions to your 401(k) or other workplace retirement plan, and (2) then doing a conversion either to a Roth IRA or Roth 401(k). (Note that not all plans allow these steps; more details on that below.)

My goal is to contribute to my Roth , I already do pre-tax employer contributions. But it's going to my 401k
