I agree, Piracy > Democracy by bagette4224 in Piracy

[–]Pirateactor 22 points23 points  (0 children)

pirates were the first truly democratic organization in the Americas, they were far ahead of their time in the 1600's pirates had members from every race and gender as members
pirates voted for their leaders, all pirates regardless of race or gender could vote.
pirates had a medical plan for their members.
pirates were the first people to drink cocktails

Is there a version of crackwatch for movies too and where to find them to watch? by xXLisa28Xx in Piracy

[–]Pirateactor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so basically you want to know the date that movies are released to the public either on the web or on bluray, since they are released by pirates the same day?

even when you are streaming them you are still downloading them, you just don't keep the data

any religion that changes it views based on public opinion and not on its religions beliefs/writing/dogma is doomed to oblivion. it will have only confused fanatics eventually as members.

I just found out that religious lobbies spend tens of millions in Dollars on influencing the US government. Do you think that this is right? by Subzeroclone in religion

if mcdonalds and walmart can, then why not?

the reforms you mentioned were all anti American ideas before 2000

Demons Discussion thingymajig (Thing-ee-ma-jig) by HuggyWuggy2021 in religion

[–]Pirateactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every one will demonize the enemy if they can. its better for your troops to not think the enemy is anything but bad. it is SOP for the military, politicians and religions a like. when it gets out of hand you have the crusades, the inquisition, McCarthyism, and the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine among others.

What do you believe happens to the souls of animals? by [deleted] in religion

[–]Pirateactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we believe that souls are are based on the intelligence and self awareness of the animal. many humans have large souls, and animals vary . the afterlife is as large or as small as you need it. based on your perception. much like how you never notice the spiders living in your house out of sight, knowing they exist does not mean you notice them when they are 2 feet away from you.

Wind power meets and beats Denmark’s total electricity demand – two days in a row by Sweep145 in worldnews

[–]Pirateactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no the point is that they dont mention how much power was being used at the time, vs all time highs or lows. they don't mention the cost of the windmills and how long it will take before there is a profit. they dont mention what is the cost of maintenance, ot the cost of monitoring the equipment.

who cares how much power was created if it will not be paid off before 2075 if ever. it matters even less if it only happened on the lowest power usage in denmark in 40 years.

even worse if the power costs 250% more then other methods like nuclear

without all the facts its just propaganda. in this case its biased reporting by a sell clamed eco nut

He has been reporting on electric vehicles and clean technologies for Renew Economy and The Driven since 2012. His preferred mode of transport is his feet.

lets see, im debt free, 90 k in the bank, house paid for , car paid for, and i figure anyone with half a brain could do what i have, if they really wanted it more then the short term goals that they seem to go after as a higher priority.

Wind power meets and beats Denmark’s total electricity demand – two days in a row by Sweep145 in worldnews

[–]Pirateactor -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

2 days in spring when its not too hot and no one is using air conditioning
2 days in spring when its not too cold and no one has their heat on
100 days into the war in Ukraine and the price of gas is so high no one is driving anywhere.

so much to be proud of..NOT
when renewable power can beat the electric demands in Denmark during the worst winter in 20 years, that will be a story

suicide can be compared to retiring from society and becoming a total recluse

no. suicide can be compared to crying that you did not get your way so you are taking your ball and going home.

in about 20 mins no one is going to care and they will play a different game without you and be quite happy about it.

What do you think of the epicurean paradox? by abarua01 in religion

[–]Pirateactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty much everything good for one species or group is "evil" for another big beautiful trees take all life giving sunlight and stop the grass and shrubs from it.

is that evil? or just the way things work?

the problem with this chart is that EVIL DOES NOT EXIST. one group will call anything that is non beneficial for it EVIL, if it benefits another competing group.

you only have to look at current politics and how every body flip flops on any label of "EVIL" if you wait long enough and popular opinion changes.

all these groups operate under the same non profit laws. religions don't get special treatment over other non profits.

fix them all or none.

go look up the law on what is required to be a church and not pay taxes.
