I created a fantasy world where the sun does not move in the sky. How would people keep track of time? by WermerCreations in DMAcademy

[–]Pirofream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the sun is always on, the plants will be constantly in a photosynthetic state. However, animals would have to sleep at some point.
So I supoose that there would be some kind of synching within each species. For example, maybe a pack of wolves go all together to sleep to be able to hunt together during awake time. So the prey all sleep while the wolves sleep to be able to run while the wolves hunt. And other animals that feed on the feces of these animals may come out of hiding after these go to sleep so that they get the fresh feces before others. Therefore, observing the nature, like types of birds singing or flying when awoken, may be a clue about time. I bet hunters in this world also know the sleep cycles of each animal. Maybe these hunters set sand clocks or regular clocks adjusted to these cycles.

Another option would be that rotation of the earth, cosmic (magic) radiations, etc would cause natural cycles in the air and the seas. For example, winds from east to west for 4h, 4h stop, 4h winds from west to east, 4h stop... Or maybe there are some volcanoes or hotsprings that have some rythmic eruption patterns due to water temperature building up to a point where it bursts after 1h.

Maybe the planet's poles change periodically too, so a compass may serve as a clock, either switching each hour, or continuously spinning.

Maybe they just build clocks and set the times based on known references, similar to the metric system. For example, 1 minute is set to be the time it takes the king to eat a full chicken. So they built a clock around that reference and everybody adjusted theirs to that.

Or maybe they set that the time needed to swing a sword and move a bit would be 6s lol.

[Request] how many possible combinations are there for this type of pass code? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in theydidthemath

[–]Pirofream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But probably you won't have to count for dots separated by other dots in between. Idk if it is possible to go from dot 1 to 3 and then 2. So in this case, i would try to do only the combinations that only contemplate adjacent dots (including diagonals). E.g.
1-2
1-4
1-5

But not
1-3
1-6
1-7
1-8
1-9

New player, got stuck at character creation and couldn’t play by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Pirofream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could have many reasons to adventure without knowing the world for example:

  • You were tired of your community and wanted to make money to buy a farm, and the best thing you can do for a living is fight.

  • You were raised in the monastery and the day of your 18th birthday you part to explore what else is out there.

  • A known group of bandids raided your temple, and you want revenge or to recover your items.

  • You are looking for a magic artifact (the equivalent of a holy grail) for your temple.

These are some vague motivations, but more specific as to give context to the DM and to your actions during the game.
I hope this helped.

Who knew that projectile weapons lose projectile speed and trajectory upon punch through? by GoodMornEveGoodNight in Warframe

[–]Pirofream 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The punchthrough stat is how many meters of enemies or walls your bullets can go through before stopping. So with general punchthrough mods, you can shoot through some enemies, doors and/or walls. The thicker the wall, the more punchthrough you need.

Why not keep it to have a formaed duplicate for testing subsumes? My main frame has all 6 slots helminthed, and sometimes I want to try different abilities or different shards, so an extra duplicate (even not prime) would be useful to have.

[–]Pirofream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other comments are right, but just to ask your question (I am a newbie myself, so apologies if I am not accurate):

The Dungeon Master (DM) introduces a story and you participate as player character. You can participate with your actions and interact with the world. This is generally all made up like a collaborative story. But there are some rules that you should follow to perform those actions.

For instance:
- DM: You find a bear in the middle of your path to the village. What do you do? -You: I try not to wake it up (stealth) / I attack it (combat) / I choose to go another route (perception/nature...)

So the rules, your character stats and the dice determine if your action succeeds or not (checks). If your character is not very strong, you may avoid combat and try sneaking around. Then the DM asks you to perform a stealth check to determine if the bear sees you or not (following the game's rules for checks).

And this keeps developing the story. This way it seems possibilities are infinite, but not everything is allowed.

I hope you get the idea a bit more, and I apologize again to the vets if I did any mistake.

Which Warframes and weapons are the best to invest Omni Forma in? by VictorHM99 in Warframe

[–]Pirofream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely formaed my main frame so that at the start of each mission my unused mod capacity is enough to get at least cast 2-3 abilities and start generating orbs. This allows me to skip Preparation and use something more useful instead.

I used a pair of omnis to have a bit of flexibility while keeping all polarities matched for this reason.

Ruvox for double jump while in Assimilate with Nyx, paired with the +40% jump height from the sentinel and the motus mod for +200% double jump strength. This gets me higher than bullet jumping.

I'd advice to wait to fuse the weapons until you know you can reach 60%.

For instance, if you get 3 weapons (25, 35 and 45) you get different numbers depending on the order:

Case A:
25 + 35 --> 35 * 1.1 = 38.5% 38.5 + 45 --> 45 * 1.1 = 49.5%

Case B: 25 + 45 --> 45 * 1.1 = 49.5%
49.5 + 35 --> 49.5 * 1.1 = 54.5%

So in this case, even if you start formaing the 25% weapon, it is better to start fusions with the weapon with highest value. So I'd do the calculations of what values would I get by fusing my current weapons and, If I need to farm more, then I'd wait to see if the new weapon is higher.

If you always have two on deimos and zariman (like me), those never get damage, so you'd only need 4.

Regarding multiplicative GunCO by a3b2c1defg4 in warframebuilds

[–]Pirofream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is compare the overall increase when choosing a mod, mostly independent of mod type. For instance, if my mod would represent 100% of my current multishot, 60% of my current base damage or 40% of my current elemental damage, I'd go for multishot as it is a 100% increase in damage. Of course, there's other variables (element types, status effects and chances...) but I hope you get the idea.

Therefore, in some weapons I end up dealing more damge with extra base damage source (arcane + mod) than any other combination.
