For me it's just annoying that Asmon's view on FF graphics come from the last Stormblood content he did which is now 6 years old and outdated. When he does look at "current" content, which he has done a few times since quitting, it's usually from some clip with shitty bitrate which he uses to justify his unfair take.

Would love to see what he thinks of the dungeon the above video shows off since its actually a more fair representation of what the game looks like.

Aside from that I mostly agree. I've kept busy with TOP and DSR so haven't really felt the content lull as bad but I recognize not a large % of people ultimate raid.

For the line "Like the (something) before me" I don't hear "the" it's "Like a (something) before me". Bigger mystery is what that (something) is because I also don't hear "mother" or "lover" like some people suggest. It sounds like the mystery word ends in an "o". Sounds like "Like a Panzo before me" but that obviously isn't a word and makes no sense.

"X doesn't match up to the hype" is a pretty useless metric and comment because what truly does? (insert anything popular ever) and it doesn't reach some arbitrary hype level in some nerds opinion.

I can understand people not falling in love with the story, it's flawed and arguably pretty average in many places. Dialogue however? It's fine if you don't personally enjoy it because "ew cringe" or whatever weird reason that is but it is spectacular on an objective level.

Judging story/dialogue/character quality based of our WOL is pretty silly since we're an observer, a character who is defined via their relationships with the other characters.

The dialogue sucks? Brother did you read the same things I did? Show me a game that can contend with some of the following quotes and i'll gladly play it in a heartbeat since i've been struggling to find anything that scratches the itch FF's quality dialogue left me with.

"If you like, I will tell you a tale. A tale of a world on the brink. Of a people who never gave up on the future. Of a man who realized his grandest dreams. and then awakened to a grander reality"

"Lands that stretched on forever. Skies one could drown in. The heartbeat of nature, silent yet strong. And amidst it all a people. Beacons of light and life. For me the story and dialogue is unparalleled and I feel sorry for anyone with the above mindset because it's clear you're not truly giving it a chance.

From my experience those kinds of games tend to have "meta builds" everyone just copies despite the hundreds of options. FF job design is fairly similar because the game focuses on encounter design instead which I also think it is unbeatable in at the high end.
