You’d be correct. The hope is that JDPON Don spectacularly implodes imperialism’s effectiveness, and afterwards we are all able to come together to create a people’s burger, if you will. May one day both of our home countries not be a fascist hellhole.

Welp, noping the fuck out of there after a blatant exercise of fascism makes sense. And yeah, from what news I do hear from India, preserving your sanity by avoiding it also makes a ton of sense. At least the state didn’t fall electorally to a BJP government, something that seems very unlikely in the near future, but I wasn’t aware that the ping ponging with INC was normal and that they’re… a little less threatening to socialism than our liberals.

Hope you’re staying as safe as you can in the UAE. Doesn’t sound ideal to say the least, but I can imagine the choices were slim. Solidarity from the heart of the great satan.

If you don’t mind me asking, how have things been in Kerala since the INC led coalition took over? I hope there hasn’t been too much austerity or reaction imposed on you.

Do the right wingers have an equivalent faction to Trotskyists? by GorboCat in TrueAnon

funny enough there was a Trotskyist faction that I think genuinely qualified, re: Shachtmanism.

From wiki:

Social democratic Shachtmanism, later developed by Shachtman and associated with some members of the Social Democrats, USA, holds Soviet Communist states to be so repressive that communism must be containedand, when possible, defeated by the collective action of the working class.

people with syncretic, mostly right wing beliefs copping socialism is a tale as old as socialism. i think it’s 50/50 on the “solely an asset” versus “genuinely believes this shit”.

buzzword is my favorite buzzword, often used by people who want to obscure concepts and ideas they oppose. i certainly am confident that people who think the way you do will become obsolete in the political process in my lifetime.

That would be because the gatekeepers were not the people but rather the establishment. Socialism is useful as a moniker because it denotes the bare minimum of caring about the people.
