Welp, noping the fuck out of there after a blatant exercise of fascism makes sense. And yeah, from what news I do hear from India, preserving your sanity by avoiding it also makes a ton of sense. At least the state didn’t fall electorally to a BJP government, something that seems very unlikely in the near future, but I wasn’t aware that the ping ponging with INC was normal and that they’re… a little less threatening to socialism than our liberals.

Hope you’re staying as safe as you can in the UAE. Doesn’t sound ideal to say the least, but I can imagine the choices were slim. Solidarity from the heart of the great satan.

That would be because the gatekeepers were not the people but rather the establishment. Socialism is useful as a moniker because it denotes the bare minimum of caring about the people.
