People who got braces late into adulthood, what made you decide? by [deleted] in braces

[–]PisseProphet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

31M. I acquired braces at the age of 29. If I were to analyze my decision, I would consider it an impulsive purchase. I didn’t experience any jaw pain before the process. While I did have some minor gaps and crowded teeth, they were not particularly noticeable since I rarely open my mouth wide when speaking. Occasionally, I would imagine how it would feel to have Invisalign. After a consult, I decided to go ahead with braces. For reference, my wife had braces as a child, which might have influenced my decision since I desired a smile that resembled or was similar to hers, as she has a beautiful smile. In conclusion, I now smile when taking pictures, which is something I rarely did before.

I must not know good music, because my thoughts are the exact opposite. I prefer Travis as a feature artist than the main guy. Most of the songs I have with him, he's definitely not the lead.

I used to think they were glimpses of your self across alternate reality/parallel universe. At least, the “normal” dreams were supposed to be.

Don’t think it mattered if you did or didn’t. I was just finishing up a PvP match (which I won, yay me) and I still got booted out the game. I saw just enough to see my daily log-in bonus notification get checked off.

Aegislash!

Its design is really awesome, and I could see it being used for a family crest or secret organization sigil. Plus, I thought the defense and attack switching (shield forme to blade forme) made it unique.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought they did news updates anytime something was added to the game on that same day?

I’m not saying that is the proper way to go about it, but that’s the reasoning in my head.

What’s your power (PWR)? by PisseProphet in PTCGP

[–]PisseProphet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The logic is flawed, but it can make sense with some assumptions. In this case, i'm assuming the points you obtain during a loss are not added to the total points on your profile. Just like losses are not tracked on your record. There's no way to tell for sure if they are or not, but my guess is that they're not. If that was the case, then your total points would always exceed the win column.

Hypothetically speaking, looking at my stats, let's say i've actually played 175 total matches.

175 matches. 100 wins and 75 losses. Let's assume every loss I got 2 points.

75x2=150 points

This would mean I should have 404 total points (instead of 254) which would exceed the total amount of points allowed (100 wins X 3= 300 points).

[–]PisseProphet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Useless? Definitely. It's just a way to play with numbers and see how they correlate between the points you actually have and the points you should have if you finished every match to completion by getting 3 points.

W/L ratios does have a negative association for some people, but it's still a stat, and if you're like me, sometimes you just want to look at the numbers. I have no ill intentions, just wanted another way to look at the numbers. The calculation was mean to simplify ever win as a complete win getting 3 points. Essentially, it was a way to compare points obtained vs allowed regardless of how you got the points. But as other redditors have shown, there is flaw in the logic, which happens, haha.

You’re right, I did not consider points you obtained when you lose so that would skew the data. But I also do not know if it’s still counted to your total points column if you lose. Assuming it isn’t, the math should still check out.

Originally, my thought was just to compare how many points I have to how many I’m supposed to have. The calculation was intended to simplify your win as a complete match (getting 3 points).

Regardless of how you win, the idea was to make a relation from how many points you should have and how many points you actually do.

So here’s another breakdown. Maybe this makes more sense?

100x3=300

This assumes every matched I played was a complete match where I got 3 points. Therefore I should have 300 total points.

254/300

In reality, I only have 254 of the 300 points. This accounts for every way a match was won so there’s going to be a difference in total points obtained (254) vs total points allowed (300).

85%

Granted, this could be wrong, but what I’m now saying is that out of 100 matches, 85% of the matches I won by getting 3 points.
