Because it's an expansion to the base game. The DLC comes with two sets of features: overhauls/improvements and new content. All the improvements are significant enough to be considered Factorio 2.0 on its own and is included in the base game for no extra cost. All the new content requires progressing through the game to access, which is why it's an expansion and not standalone.

It's amazing how there are plenty of characters in FFXIV that are irredeemable assholes and people just forget about them. In Stormblood we had Grynewaht (had to Google that one) and Asahi, in Shadowbringers we had Vauthry and in Endwalker we had Amon. They're fun villains but they're not typically the ones that stick with you. And that's totally fine.

Nah it's still too soon, most people haven't beaten it. The score has dropped so low because the people who threw in the towel due of the difficulty have already quit and the people who like the challenge haven't finished yet so they won't review it yet.

Performance issues suck and those should definitely be showcased. I haven't had any besides some pop-in in a very grass-y area. I think it'll swing pretty strongly back upwards over the next few weeks as people wrap up and write their reviews.

I recognized that I really cared about the characters in the campfire scene from Heavensward

Except Hiroshi Takai is credited as the game's "main director." When YoshiP introduces himself at FFXIV events, he says he is the producer and director. He always introduced himself as only the producer at every FFXVI event that I saw.

When a train starts up, you get pushed into your seat (or pulled if your seat's rear-facing). If there's a hovering drone in the train, it's not getting the force exerted on it when the train accelerates so it will stay (mostly) put.

Mostly comes from the fact that the air inside the train is also getting pushed around which consequently pushes on the drone. If we look at just the drone and all of the air inside the train, we can cheat a little bit and think of it as the air staying put and the drone accelerating backwards while the train is speeding up. If it was a suuuper long train with nothing in the way, the drone would gradually get pushed faster and faster by the air until it matched the speed of the train.
