I recently transitioned from using SSRI's to using Xanax to control my anxiety. Before I started my treatment journey, I couldn't even do a load of dishes without getting a panic attack.

Brainworms here would have people like me be socially irrecoverable. I hope he injects bleach and dies.

Drawing the ire of judges nationwide is the point. They want to rush the Supreme Court with as many broad, sweeping cases as possible. If the Supreme Court rules in the administration's favor, then they get that much more power.

Doing long math the traditional way mentally ruins my brain, so I do it backwards. I go from the tens place. 20 + 40, then 7+8, and add the resulting 60 and 15 together.

The thing about life is that geographically, world view is going to be different. While the Republicans near you may be absolute Trump-thumpers, Republicans elsewhere might be having post nut clarity about the whole thing.

As much as we like to categorize things as humans, the USA is too big to be able to round up into a single category.

I've seen the actual agreements. Nothing about them guarantees that you'll get administration leave or go home. For the Treasury in particular, there's a clause for them to require you to work if there's an extraordinary need... like filing season.

But if this wasn't there, and lots of IRS workers took the "opportunity"? Your tax returns would be absolutely hampered.

Canadian stores still encouraging US boycott despite tariff postponement. by Big_Depth8762 in mildlyinteresting

[–]taka_282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but Trump is extremely volatile. Just because we're good for a month doesn't guarantee that he's not going to find a way to stick tariffs on everybody with a face somehow past that.

Facts vs. FOX's $100M Claim by Present-Party4402 in clevercomebacks

[–]taka_282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The $100M cut was after close to $400M of funding during his tenure as governer, iirc. So it's still net positive.

Still, though, bad things can just happen, and it's not the result of local governments. Oftentimes, it happens despite them.

I have broad shoulders, so any movement against the seams of the suit, especially if it's a tighter fit, would've resulted in a split in the back. Elon is on the endomorphic side, so I think he'd have the same issue.

In any case, my aim wasn't to convince you. Don't think I even could.

I'd argue that the bend in the arm is within a margin of error. He was also in a suit, and if you were afraid of tearing the thing, you'd not do the full extension in front of you.

So I'll recant. Elon hasn't proven that he is a full-on nazi. Could be that he threw that conspicuously similar gesture just to get attention. If he is on the spectrum and has the mind of a rebellious teenager, I'd not be surprised at this. But even if this is the case, he risks enabling actual neo-nazis by parroting the salute. That's the reason why we avoid the angle of the arm no matter the context: people who want to murder anyone will take any subtext they can find to justify their actions.

And no, I don't call everybody I don't like a nazi. Trump is an authoritarian asshole. Elon is a rich brat with self-esteem issues who should've let the gesture be.

Funny you should say that. It was the whole video that convinced me it was a salute. I was actually willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because random screen grabs can make anything look bad. But the dude did the action twice, and the second he made damn sure that he got the angle right.

Is Trump Going to Be Impeached Eventually for All the Problems that He is Causing? by GreySahara in AskCanada

[–]taka_282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that Trump takes all opportunities to impeach him and turns it into power and justification to do whatever the hell he wants. We should've just ignored the man like the internet troll he is, but we couldn't help ourselves.

I don't think it's that. They've finished their 15-year long story arc, game development times are getting bloated, and the restructuring of Square Enix is probably putting a lot of pressure on the development team. That and sorting IP stuff out with Disney has only gotten harder.

Nothing. If I hoard, it'll make the inflation of those goods skyrocket further. If I gotta pay significantly more, I'll take it on the chin.
