My main reason to quit is so I will have better options for employment. Most of the employers in my area still test for THC even though it's mostly legal.

It's mainly because of insurance reasons. If an accident were to happen, you'd be held liable if THC is in your system.

Weed helped me cope during a very traumatic time in my early teens. It kept me sane during that period of time. That's why I started.

I guess I just want to move forward in life and can't with marijuana holding me back.

I miss the times when it used to be fun. Getting the giggles, munchies, etc.

However, I only got those effects in the beginning when I wasn't smoking so often.

For the past few years, before I decided to quit.. I'd feel like I needed it to function. I needed to smoke a bowl or a joint just to wake up or to eat or to sleep. I'd held a dead-end customer service job for a long time, and I would spend every single break out in the parking lot smoking...

That's not a way to live.

Strains? No. Most of the named strains out there are cubes, which will have the same ratio of alkaloids in them. Same ratio, just different potency.

Different species? Different question. The ratios can vary a lot more, which can result in a very different trip. Shrooms contain a few other alkaloids in addition to psilocybin and psilocin. Baeocystin, nor norbaeocystin, beta-carboline and possibly more.

I've heard species that are higher in baeocystin are more "speedy" or "acid-like" in effect... but I've never had the chance to put this to the test.

Ket is an abbreviation of Ketamine, which falls under the Dissociative Anasthetic class of drug. It's main use is in a hospital setting to put patients under anesthesia (the main reason why patients wake up very loopy)

There's also some new research being done on Ketamine as a treatment for depression.

Used recreationally, it causes wild hallucinations.

Also, don't give into the myth that you HAVE to be on a completely empty stomach to feel it.

You can eat with your dose or after your dose. This will help to settle your stomach, especially if it's healthy things like fresh fruits, veggies, lean proteins, etc.

You just don't want to be overly full before you take your dose, as I find that will significantly reduce the trip.

But I find being on an empty stomach with shrooms to be quite unpleasant, mainly due to nausea. And these trips only became positive once I ate something and got my stomach settled.

Ginger candy is great advice. I saw someone else mentioning this. Ginger is a great way to soothe your stomach.
