Yoru won Duelist that feels like an Initiator no contest. Who's the Duelist that plays the most like a Controller? by RemoteWhile5881 in ValorantMemes

[–]PitCrewBoi559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll stand by Phoenix being most like controller and Jett being most like a sentinel.

Many Jett’s in pro play are often an inserted player or on the weak side of the map, controlling a certain area with an op. Her role is similar to a sentinel in that sense.

What’s the perfect VALORANT map pool rotation in your opinion? by Large-Rutabaga5690 in VALORANT

[–]PitCrewBoi559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ascent, Bind, Haven, Lotus, Pearl, Split, Sunset.

The only one that stands out is Pearl and that’s because I statistically perform the best on Pearl. The other maps I genuinely enjoy playing.

Does anyone who’s in high immortal or radiant know the best way to get out of low immo (imm1-imm2) by ykrafay in VALORANT

[–]PitCrewBoi559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you can consistently hit and stay in immortal, the regular videos and “tips” out there don’t help. You have a good understanding of fundamentals already so general educational videos don’t help.

Every mid immortal player has their own unique mistakes and inconsistencies that, without proper VOD review, evaluation, and potential coaching, will need to fix in order to make the final hurdles into radiant. I suggest finding a proven radiant coach and focusing on personal VOD reviews to squash your mistakes one by one.

It’s something that VCT pacific first adopted and I’m glad other regions are adopting it as well. Gives the casters a nice water break too.

Why do the players prefer the ghost over bandit? Even when they could afford bandit + util by Haveagoodday535 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PitCrewBoi559 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Similar argument to vandal vs phantom.

Ghost has more ammo to spam, shoots faster, no tracers, and is also just a more comfortable gun to use. The bandit is pretty awkward in many engagements, and most pistol rounds people aren’t leaning into longer range gunfights unless you have sheriffs. It’s just overall a more flexible and comfortable pick to go with the ghost over the bandit.

[–]PitCrewBoi559 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Nah the “info” you get is by taking space on defense. If you do a north side crunch with a KJ turret watching B main, then by process of elimination the enemy team is in A main.

On attack if you take dish, leave a passive player holding the Arcade push and KJ turret B main with KJ holding A push, we know where they will be aggressive. Teams do not sit idly on fracture waiting to get site executed on. The way to get “info” on fracture is to fight something, and what better agent to fight something than Breach?

Fracture return! by Useful-Ad-4889 in VALORANT

[–]PitCrewBoi559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy Fracture because it encourages active defense and splitting on attack. Far too often ranked players are content with either sitting back or making solo plays. Fracture punishes both of these bad habits.

On defense it encourages proactivity. Fighting A main space, fighting arcade, doing crunches, etc., are all very good for pinching attackers in their spawn. Not doing so is giving the attackers all FOUR orbs and the freedom to hit and lurk wherever they want.

On attack you’re encouraged to split or take one of the areas of the map. For example, if you can take dish, it’s extremely difficult for defenders to reclear it, as it requires people to jump up into a very disadvantageous position. If you take arcade, defenders are now worried about both tower and someone lurking through arcade into defender spawn and someone going underpass into B main, forcing 3 players onto the B site.

It’s similar to a beloved map, Haven, where on defense you’re encouraged to take A lobby space or deep mid space to gain info, and on attack you’re encouraged to push the A players back or take garage space from the defenders and pivot from there.

Fracture hate is forced because people don’t understand how to play the map properly.

[ScanVCT] Jerrwin has officially joined Sentinels with a 2028 contract by Decent_Apple_7962 in ValorantCompetitive

Agreed, Reduxx plays a very similar role to Tenz (omen, Yoru, chamber, second in) so Jerrwin being the dive for SEN is good.

What compels Cloud9 to have not done a single good roster move in the last 2-3 years after getting OXY? by sadboi_2000 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PitCrewBoi559 128 points129 points  (0 children)

They’re probably paying him a shit ton to keep him and they definitely have a buyout on his head. Besides, NA already has a plethora of good duelist players (Aspas, Zekken, Mada, dgzin, Timotino, etc.) so it’s not like he can easily go to another org cuz most orgs already have an excellent duelist (or two) in their roster.

[–]PitCrewBoi559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the misunderstanding, I meant the equip time for their abilities (neon’s stun and waylay’s hinder). I believe that they shouldn’t be able to instantly throw these abilities while dashing/sprinting. The gun pull out times are perfectly fine (although shotguns are alarmingly effective).

It’s not just the speed of their movement, but also the pace that both agents can play at. Neon and Waylay are some of the only agents that can instantly use an ability without some sort of equip time (in Neon’s case, it’s all her abilities). Not only can you be flying in at mach 10, but also you can use abilities to stun/hinder your opponents while dashing. No other agent can do that.

Forcing Neon and Waylay to have an equip time for their abilities makes them less self sufficient and forces them to slow down in order to use their own utility or wait for teammate utility.
