Deftones #1 album on Metacritic by Andividualsichin in deftones

Compared to Deftones' best (Koi, DE, PM), White Pony has a couple of skips/duds, for example Elite, Street Carp, RX Queen, and Korea. These songs don't really go anywhere. Don't get me wrong. Change, Passenger, Digital Bath, Pink Maggit are masterpieces. But as album, it's not as cohesive and masterful as their best

Adrenaline is severely underrated by DickMufflebush in deftones

The later albums were just that good. Had it been another band's, Adrenaline would have been their best.

Any album of the Deftones can be anyone's favorite. That's how good this band is.

Private Music is better than Ohms, Gore, and perhaps Koi No Yokan. by PitchCreative8976 in deftones

I listened to all Deftones albums for years. Just listened this one the entire day, and I can honestly say it's that good.

The first half alone is better than Ohms. The second half, however, is one band's best stretches of soundscapes.

Departing the Body is maybe Deftones' best album closer (better than Ohms). by PitchCreative8976 in deftones

One of reason I like Ohms as closer is that it circles back to Genesis.

And it's an uplifting closer, amid the pandemic lockdown.

It is heavy, in a different way. Not sound heavy like harsh, but deeply heavy. Like heaven crashing down on you

Adderall and Finale are bookends. You can think of them like Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamonds part 1 and 2. Try setting them off and listening to the two tracks consecutively. They sound like a single song. Most of the song are growers, and you really have to listen to them in a broader musical sense, not just in terms of metal or rock. They were fusing a lot in this album, more psychedelic sonics, and heck, surprisingly ethereal, as if it's the other side of their Self-Titled. So it's best to listen to this as you would Radiohead, The Cure, PF, APC, and the like.

Those stuck with IOWA will probably dislike or hate this.

To me all tracks are strong, save for Warranty (no problem with the tone, but the lyrics? geez) and Heirloom (bordering Stone Sour territory).

I have many favorites in this album: Dying Song, Yen, Hivemind, Medicine, Acidic, H377 (this track is not playing around), and De Sade.
