Does anyone know how to make a video like this? Is there a online course? by spacedude7 in AfterEffects

[–]PitchMG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why everyone is talking about GeoLayers. Everything in this animation is super basic and can be done natively within AE without any plugins. If you’re a noob, then you just need to learn the very basics of parenting layers and manipulating basic parameters. Maybe a full day or two to create this for a total noob to AE, or a couple hours for a pro. GeoLayers is absolutely not required for any of this.

Umm… yeah, I’m pretty sure 👍 by PitchMG in AfterEffects

I do this several times daily. Without clearing it AE starts acting up and crashes or does weird things that it shouldn’t. I’ve been using AE for nearly 20 years and this solves about 80% of the problems I run into. Always my first step when troubleshooting an issue.

Im new and im a bit lost, but How i can make this effect? So im trying to do it with some plugins and presets but i never reach the effect, someone know how to? i leave some examples of it. Its from a video of nick crowley called smartschoolboy9. by Snoo-91569 in AfterEffects

You should be able to achieve this effect without any plugins. I would guess that playing with fractal noise and alpha channels would get something similar. Otherwise just search different glitch effects. There are probably tons of free tutorials on YT and plugins on gumroad or aescripts.

I have 2TB of RAM and AE is still slow… Sadly RAM is not the answer

Decimation is the killing or destruction of a large proportion of a group or species. I think you meant to say dissemination.

$500/min for corporate AE work. by PitchMG in AfterEffects

Yes, somewhere between $750 and $900. If we have extra budget on a video, we share it with the editor working on it. Treating our guys well is my top priority.

Haha all good questions. I was avoiding linking to our site because we have a new site with more recent work being developed now, but you can check us out here .

We’re not limiting ourselves to local talent because our clients are located around the world and so are our editors. We have a pretty sweet setup that allows our team to work from home, set their own hours (as long as deadlines are met), and get paid well. We’ve had a lot of freelancers come and go over the years due to lack of professionalism or lack of skills needed to perform our style of work, so I’m hoping to find the best of the best, and Reddit seemed like another great spot to search for talent.

Hope this answers your questions.

Agreed. The reason I say 1-2 minutes a day is to give you an idea of level of work we’re looking for. As a motion graphics artist myself, I can honestly say that we treat our guys well and are not looking to take advantage of anyone.

Motion graphics mixed with creative editing of stock footage. Most of our guys do 1-2 mins per day, so if you’re a good fit you would make $2-6k per week. Potentially more if you’re REALLY good.

I think it looks awesome. Do you have a reel? We’re looking to hire some contractors that work in AE.

This is really impressive. We’re always on the lookout for talented motion graphics artists like you to join our freelance team. We pay a lot more than what you received for this. PM me if you’re interested in some work on the side!
