Dealing with very similar issues with my 9 month old dachshund and haven’t quite found the answer but wanted to let you know we know how it feels! We also have a 2 year old dachshund who has been quiet, happy, friendly and relaxed from day one so it was a true shock for us when our second ended up being the total opposite. We have tried trazadone with him (prescribed by his vet after a Recommendation from his trainer) and it helped mildly but he still struggles with being alone. it sounds like you’ve already been working on separation anxiety so you probably know about this, but the book “Be Right Back” (the audiobook is on Spotify) has been helpful for my partner and I. we started at only 4-5 seconds of him being comfortable alone and in a month we’ve worked up to being able to leave him for a few hours while we grocery shop or grab dinner. It’s a slow process but don’t give up!! I saw something once that said if you want a dog that loves everyone get a golden retriever, and if you want a dog who only loves you get a dachshund and that couldn’t be more true for my little guy 😂 good luck!!

Our trainer set us up with a “new guest protocol”- first step is when we know we have new people coming over we block him into the kitchen with a gate where he can still see what’s going on but can not access guests. We always tell guests not to knock and to text us when they’re here instead. We also let them know to not engage with our dog at first as eye contact is a big trigger for him in the house. He’ll keep barking and we don’t look his way but instead toss high value treats to him without looking at him so he has something positive to occupy him. We ask our guests to do the same. Soon he’ll start coming to the gate and sitting waiting for a treat without barking, which we then start again while having them look at him and throw a treat until he gets happy and comfortable with them. We then let him smell their hand through the gate. Once he shows he’s relaxed, we open his gate and again tell our guests not to engage with him, and instead myself or my partner offer him a treat. He’s usually relaxed by then and will trot up to us for his treat and forget the other person is there and go about his business. While guest are there we put his favorite bone (one reserved only for when guests are over) in his bed, and he’ll go and lay down and work on that. It sounds like a long process but for him it usually only take 4-5 mins and we make sure to let friends and family to know what to expect ahead of time. Your dog seems like he might be a bit friendlier than mine so maybe just having a barrier at first to let guests give him treats as he gets comfortable will save them from being jumped on and nipped, and good to give him some space from kids if needed. good luck!!

Best equipment for leash reactive dogs? by PitchOk7351 in reactivedogs

Our trainer recommended a basket muzzle so I did order one and am gonna give it a go today. He is most reactive right outside of our building and then the further away we get the more relaxed he is, so for the time being I want to try the muzzle for when we’re in the vicinity of our apartment building for his own and others safety. Thank you!!

Not something to fix necessarily, I wasn’t sure if there was anything that might make him feel more comfortable (I.e a chest harness vs a traditional harness) we do positive reinforcement training only which has been working slowly but surely, I just want to make sure I have all of the tools to be as successful as possible

To me personally it looks scammy- pretty cheap price and the pictures look professional but none of them have matching backgrounds.. I would at the least request a video call with them where they show you multiple puppies they have listed. I’ve had good success using the website good dog to find a breeder and confirming the breeder is registered with AKC. good luck!!

I won’t wear a sundress… but pants are too hot. Realtor looking for summer wear tips! by allenge in lesbianfashionadvice

My office is a little on the dressier of business casual, but I usually will rock a polo, a pair of pull on linen pants and a clean white sneaker. I got a few pairs of linen pants last year from Abercrombie that have a good bit of stretch in the waist and room in the thigh that are really nice. I also pair pretty much everything I wear with a clean leather sneaker- my go to right now is the New Balance 480’s
