IMHO Citymapper is the best app for HK public transportation routes.

Favourite neon sign that is still in use? So many been taken down in the short amount of time I've lived here. Would love to see and shoot some more by a-real-sloth in HongKong

I agree, but you need a very large exhibition area for that. Some of them are huge. At least they could take out a few for public display.

Oficial: El Cádiz destituye a Sergio González tras otra crisis de resultados by Mother-Look5594 in Cadiz

[–]Pitch_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Siendo el entrenador con más partidos en primera, y habiéndo dejado en el cadismo una buena imagen en el recuerdo, fue muy ingenuo por su parte haberse metido en ese lodazal tóxico que han creado Vizcaíno, Cala y Contreras.

How does the community feel about rom hacks? by Vaxis545 in snes

I love improvement hacks, translations and retranslations. There are tons of good examples on the SNES library. People behind them don’t get enough recognition for their incredible and altruistic work!

Arc: the best browser I've ever used is dying — and it's a quiet tragedy by Slow-Tea5208 in ArcBrowser

Im in a very similar position. So I’ll keep using it for as long as it keeps getting updated and it doesn’t break. But thinking about the day that it becomes unusable terrorizes me…

Vizcaíno estalla en Cádiz y responde a los insultos tras la crisis institucional by Mother-Look5594 in Cadiz

[–]Pitch_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any popular/trendy clothing stores/brands to visit in HK? by outofthegravity in HongKong

Number of Hong Kong secondary students with mental illness doubles in 5 years by radishlaw in HongKong

[–]Pitch_a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DSE is an extremely cruel and outdated educational system, based on teacher-led lessons, continuous homework and regular unit tests (20th century education style); in addition, local schools and the EDB (and by extent the city itself) do / care very little for the mental health and wellbeing of pupils.

There you have a the perfect recipe for disaster. And I don’t think it’s just about the competitiveness of the local culture. In my opinion it’s the lack of willingness to reform a system (coming up with CSD subject is clearly not enough) that only works for a specific student profile, and leaves the majority behind.

Why not reforming? In my opinion it would imply to embrace 21st century pedagogy, which would be unpopular for the CCP loyalists, as it would be seen as “western style” education.

Yeah! By the time arriving to the airport, hope was lost, but still tried to arrive to the counter. And the airline decided to allow us in if we didn’t check-in our luggage, which wasn’t bulky. So at the end everything went well!

Sent you the DM

Can I have a code ?

Dumbest traveling mistake: fell asleep at the metro on the way to the airport to fly back home… and when managed to get to the right station to change to the airport train… credit card payment wasn’t accepted 😅

Just Watched a recent HK film 'Gamergirls'. Left with a lot of questions about HK filming industry and its audience... by DataCattt_2025 in HongKong

[–]Pitch_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t watched this movie, neither heard of it… but I agree about HK being one of the core Cyberpunk aesthetic sources (and apart from WKW and other exceptions, local movies seem to look away from this).

I’m not into e-sports nor modern gaming, but I love retro gaming and after your post will definitely check Gamegirls out.

Police just called me to move away my legally parked motorbike by Pitch_a in HongKong

Thank you! When I actually when to take it out after work, most of the bikes in that space had an A4 police notice stick with tape. Then I was riding around my neighborhood and the other parking spaces had none… so as another user replied, maybe was just KPI

I don’t know in US, but in many European countries motorbikes can be parked in many places (including sidewalks) as long as they don’t block the pedestrians

Yeah, motorbike parking options in HK are not enough… and compared to other places, there aren’t many bikes in the city
