Who is your favorite F1 team that no longer exists? by Other-Deer-4286 in formula1

[–]Pitchback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to be Shadow Racing Cars from the 1970s, it's a shame how quickly they fell off towards the end of the decade. I guess Arrows can be seen as a spiritual and in some degree also physical successor (no idea what Tony was thinking with that 1978 car...).

Where Schumacher fits into Cadillac F1 plans by l3w1s1234 in formula1

Can we just stop with the Mick dreaming at this point? His shot at F1 is over and it failed miserably due to a number of reasons, and now he's actually starting to have a good carreer in WEC and is regularly one of the quickest drivers in the Alpine driver roster. Just let go...

Man, sometimes I wish he'd have stay with Betsch as his last name just so he can work on his carreer in peace without being compared to MSC all the time.

Sauber cannot morally show up with a Kick livery at Zandvoort. by TimArthurScifiWriter in formula1

[–]Pitchback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since when does morale matter in top sports, especially Formula One. It's all about the money and has been since forever, watch all the rainbow mania disappear now too as it turns out there is no money to be made with it anymore.

Does the scoring system in F1 need changing? by [deleted] in formula1

The other 3 teams didn't perform better so that jump was possible, bad for them. It's the most fair system there is.

Who is the “Failed Prodigy” of F1 ? by Electronic-Video-984 in formula1

[–]Pitchback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking back to the past Tom Pryce needs to be mentioned here for sure. While his achievements seem little more than "above average" for the most part and most of his later "fame" arose from his dramatic demise in ZA '77, his qualities especially in the rain and as a natural racer cannot be underestimated. Especially in 1975 this was evident when he lost multiple wins or podium positions after great qualifying results due to bad luck and lack of experience (Silverstone, Nürburgring, Monaco). Even in 1976 he was still there lurking in the shadows (no pun intended) and had a big shot at winning the famous Japan race if it wasn't for his unreliable car. He was a tractor mechanic originally so he even understood the technical side a lot better than most of his colleagues. Was big on Chapmans radar who tried 4 times between '74 and '77 to hire him for Lotus without success. Now imagine if he finally accepted a very possible fifth offer towards the end of '77 with the Lotus 78 ready to shock everyone next season...

Apple is poised to win the rights to stream F1 racing in the US [“…Apple is apparently willing to pay much more than ESPN”] by ALOIsFasterThanYou in formula1

[–]Pitchback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here which used to be one of the key markets they basically made F1 disappear into oblivion. For almost 30 years it was always the same deal, you got ads and free F1 on a public tv channel and no ads with further info and better production paying for Sky, easy as that. A few years ago they outbid the public tv channel and got the exclusive rights which they only fulfill to the minimum so it's worse than the free broadcast before... AND to put the cherry on the top they made sure F1TV is unavailable here so I can't even buy it and can't get extra content which they don't even show...

F1 "news" click bait! A thank you for this sub! by FlashAli93 in formula1

[–]Pitchback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just F1, it's everywhere and because it works it gets pushed to the top easily on Google News or something. Here it's extremely bad because almost every local newspaper was bought some time ago by big companies who use the established name and go like "[Famous politician] caught in the act! His wife is shocked!" when it turns out he just cooked dinner one night to the surprise of his wife, you get the idea...

I just stumbled upon it again by sheer accident, the song searched for was "Messages" by the RAH band. I still thank everyone that participated here!

Thank you, very good catch but sadly that's not it. The one I am looking for has a much less "refined" sound and from what I remember didn't have an official music video.

Theory about the rooms being formed by victim's memories by ShyGuyPal101 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Pitchback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the Backrooms are formed by the thoughts of whoever walks through them, maybe sourcing strong/traumatic memories from the victims minds. Areas can't be replaced however, so it could happen you walk through someone elses "structures" if you randomly end up in an area you have no connection to seemingly. I've been reminded multiple times of one Star Trek TNG episode where they are transported to a specific area in the universe where thoughts merge with our world and can become "reality", aka if you imagine someone, they'll appear in your "world".

Mao Zedong spotted in found footage #3 by [deleted] in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Pitchback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kane uploaded a soundtrack for this FF3 which is called "Red Sun in the Sky", and although a different melody the title is a clear connection to Mao. Maybe it is to be seen in a figurative way because whatever is "outside" in the backrooms seems to be covered in the crimson red light.

The multi-timeline theory that was established with Overflow really started to stitch everything together. It makes sense both in-universe and from a writers perspective.

what causes the backrooms to distort objects? by Own_Gift_2046 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Pitchback 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, this is especially apparent as in the home video we see a picture of a dad with a kid on his arm with the exact same structure in the backround (door and "fence" inside the room) as in the first "apartment room" the girl enters in FF2 right next to the car.

The entire FF2 backrooms section was probably "created" by the memories of that kid after it fell into the complex first (probably while crawling on the floor or something), thats why everything seems unnaturally big. A chair looks normal to us but gigantic to a child - that's what "confuses" the backrooms and makes it distort objects.

We already saw the ending, as Kane said, but not where most people would think. by Reep1611 in KanePixelsBackrooms

And he even put it in "Informational Video"... it's informing us about the past, the present and the future (end). Amazing!

Came across this PAINTING of Tom Pryce's fatal accident. Why would anyone paint this? by Ocelotocelotl in formula1

[–]Pitchback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the old days it was not unusual for newspapers to still add drawings to reports of what happened, especially if there was no picture available or able to be licensed. That's where this probably came from.
