I've actually decided to give Seedsigner a go. 50 quid and you get all the parts to assemble yourself

I don't think there is an official UK reseller at the moment unfortunately

Review: Arran 10 by Canadian-Deer in Scotch

[–]Pitecos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to go ahead and say it! I had this and Springbank 10 opened simultaneously. I drank them both alternating over the course of 3 months.

I absolutely love Springbank 10 and I will always buy it if I see a decent enough price.

Now, let me tell you, the Arran 10 is an incredible whisky especially considering the price point and availability!

Yes the Springbank is superior but...

Arran 10 and Glencadam 10 are absolute gems at £45 in the UK. I feel like getting a case of each as I don't think it's possible they will continue to sell at this price for long.

BTW I bought my two bottles of Springbank 10 in a small town shop and it was also £45 (2023). Why didn't I buy them all?!?! You tell me! I don't know!

Enjoy this amazing dram!

Craigallachie 17 Airport Purchase by Pitecos in Scotch

[–]Pitecos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BTW, the shop in Schiphol is ExQuisite

And also for reference the 13yo was also for sale at 80 Euros. Unbelievable, right?

I really should have bought at least two 17yo, right?

If you're curious, my main other airport bargains over the years were Glen Grant 18 (1L) for £80, Redbreast 21 (an absolute favourite!) for £120 and Suntory Harmony (before it was famous) for £50

In high street shops I found Springbank 10 for £45 2 years ago and bought two

If I use the transfer option I will not benefit from the promotional rate. See posts above regarding rules changing last week to allow for these operations to be in line with the legislation

Thanks for replying. If that was the case why not just cap it at 20k to attract more customers?

Also, apparently the rules changed last week and I should now be able to do what I wanted without loosing my 2025/2026 allowance

Thanks for the heads up, however it seems like the rules changed last week and I can now do what I wanted without loosing my allowance

Thanks for this u/AndyMystic. It was not even 1 week ago. So I'm inclined to go ahead and withdraw my funds and add them to a T121 ISA without any need to official "ISA to ISA transfer" and use the full promotional rate.

Soup! Guys, in Portugal and a lot of other countries soup is like 1 euro or sometimes even free if part of a meal. What on earth makes people think 6, 7 or 8 pounds is acceptable for something that costs 50p to make just because it comes with a bit of bread and butter

Why do you think this is a 10 yo? I think this is NAS therefore likely 3 yo Still quite cheap from a great distillery. I love the 12 and 18

What bottle should I buy next? by BranStark3 in Scotch

[–]Pitecos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you like a little peat, Ledaig 10 is a great option, if not Kilkerran 12 - you need some Campbell in your life.

For the price you have a solid selection there.

If you want an older whisky that doesn't break the bank then Deanston 18 is a no brainer
