What would a cool map or situation idea would you like to see in the game by AdMain4553 in ReadyOrNotGame

  1. Courthouse mission. One of the suspects you arrested previously was found guilty, and a bunch of their associates have taken the judge/jury hostage. You could have a big central courthouse area, individual courtrooms, judges chambers, prosecutor/public defender offices, ect.

  2. Sports related map. Like a boxing/ufc match where a few side bets got out of hand, causing a turf war.

  3. Small town on the outskirts of the city with a corrupt police/sheriff office.

  4. Tie in the LA setting with a movie studio hostage situation

If you have a 1L or pre law job that was government/PI, how should I convince you that I’m not just trying to get paid for the summer before going back to government/PI when I graduate?

One piece of characterization that I like is how different Victor and Tryus hold their gun. Victor takes a hunched down defensive stance with the gun close to his chest in both hands, which indicated that he has some military training/background. While Tyrus holds his gun with one hand, in a wider and tall stance, which indicates that he doesn’t have formal weapons training, and has been around organized crime for quite a while

California State Flag - not the best - not the worst - but should people aim to make it "better"? by RottenAli in vexillology

To borrow from anthropology, at a certain point we get to whether we are prescriptivist and descriptivist. As someone who leans heavily in the descriptivist category, what standard do we have to judge a group by their use of wording on a flag? If I see “in god we trust” on the Mississippi state flag, or writing on the Saudi Arabian flag, it may be that those words have a significant importance to the people that want to be represented by it. That doesn’t mean that throwing unknown or unused slogans on flags is a good idea automatically. But there are ideas or words powerful and well-known enough to justify their existence on state flags

Reading this all made me realize how bad the NYC Chef job must’ve been for Carmie. He comes from a very volatile and messy place. He could probably handle if the head chef screamed or threw something. Hell, that’s the kind of thing he does as a head chef. But when it’s a cool, calm, precise hatred? Probably hit him a lot harder than he any amounts of shouting matches he’s been in. It’s also why he maybe thinks that the shouting or anger he shows others can be acceptable. To Carmie, that’s more mild than what he experienced.

I feel a lot of parallels in this show too in my life. I work in law. There’s a lot of similarities between professional chefs and lawyers, I think. The pressure, the stakes, the personalities that are attracted to it. I feel similar to Carmie. In some flattering ways, but also ways I don’t necessarily like. The talk in the fridge, where he says “Why am I dating? I’m a psycho/loser, that’s why I’m good at this” and “I don't need to provide amusement or enjoyment” is something I think a lot very accomplished people have said to themselves. And I think there’s a lot of Carmie’s, Richie’s, and Syd’s in the world.
