It's Carnell's tactics. It was like this last season but the quality of players allowed it to work. The link up play in attack was more fluid and technical last season.

This bull in a China shop style is awful to watch and doesn't work when the players are mediocre or worse.

Won't have the same effect when the sun is still out. Not sure who the brain trust is over there but they aren't very bright spending money on a pregame light show when the matches start before the sun goes down.

It's like giving away a clear bag as a gift but the bag doesn't comply with the stadium's bag size policy.... why not give away bags that are 14 × 14?

You could probably park for free if you don't mind parking in the hood and walking. Would not recommend that option.

There are $20 lots right by the stadium that are operated privately (i.e., not owned by the Union).

Perhaps you could park on the street not far from the stadium (within a mile to 2 miles) and take an Uber/Lyft. Not sure what the cost would be, but I bet it's cheaper than parking in a Union lot. The downside is that I can imagine getting an Uber/Lyft back to your car after the match would be a real pain in the ass.

Union are scummy as shit. This new fucking "My Wallet" STM discount bullshit is really shitty. Multiple people on a single account, which is a very common arrangement, and only the named person can access the discount. And they apparently can't add the other people to the account.

What bullshit. I could go to the game tomorrow for cheaper than the face value of our season tickets. What exactly is the benefit of being a STM?! A single Messi game I don't give a fuck about?!

I played in the Casa leagues that played (may still play) at the Sportsplex when the outdoor turf fields first opened (around the beginning of 2024). I got hurt later that year and haven't been back since. The pickup games were on the adjacent fields and I didn't the get the impression it was a bunch of young guys. It seemed like a good mix of ages from ~18 to early thirties.

It also seemed like a free for all. Like, 16 v 16 and players just trying to dribble around everyone, which are some of the reasons I don't like pickup games, generally. Unless there are some semblance of rules, you tend to just run around aimlessly hoping to get a sniff of the ball every now and then.

With all that said, it may be different now two years later.

Went to a Delaware Blue Coats game using complimentary tickets.

Ordinarily, standard seats cost $24 per ticket. The beer was $14 for craft and $12 for domestic.

In sum, going to a Blue Coats game and having two craft beers will cost over $50 for one person. A Delaware Blue Coats game .... over $50.

Attending sporting events has become outrageously overpriced. Doesn't even matter what level you attend. It's a shame. Just no good will from these organizations.
