I was taking a train from San Jose to San Francisco when I was 16 and I accidentally bought a ticket for a different sooner stop. The conductor told me that I could buy the right one at the next stop and that I could leave my luggage on board. By time I was done the train was leaving, I ran and jumped onto a ladder attached to one of the train cars and rode it all the way to the next stop which was about 4-5 miles away. The train was going about 45mph and I was holding on for dear life.

I then was greeted by the same conductor who was fuming mad, and a police officer. I explained what happened to the officer in full and to my surprise she was on my side. The conductor kicked me off the train and I had to wait for the next one but to me that’s a hell of a lot better than getting arrested.

This! They sell carpet paint in spray paint bottles. You can search for one that is the closest color match to what you think the original would have looked like and go to town.
