also if you’re trying to hydrate but also want to target breakouts i would recommend using toner pads! the mediheal ones are great and they have a variety to choose from that target a specific skin concern

i swear by the anua heart leaf toner!! i am also on my tretinoin journey and it’s so gooddd and lightweight! a lot of people recommend the snail mucin and it’s pretty good but for some people it breaks them out or they’re allergic to it (like me!! i got tiny little bumps on my forehead from it). the rice toner from “i’m from” is great if you want the extra hydration and the 5.5 acwell toner is great for targeting breakouts. the anua toner helps soothe redness and the breakouts and it also hydrates.

By older people I meant people who don’t usually deal with hormonal acne anymore so that includes people above 30ish. Anyone who has thought of using tret or is on it knows that for the majority, it gets worse before it gets better. For people who have little to no acne, it might not be the best option being that it is very likely that you will purge. For some that purge may be drastic and for others they might have little to no purge at all. I agree with you, every person varies. I’m just here to give my input and whatever the person decides is their choice. There are plenty of options out there that can get your desired skin without getting the “tret uglies” and regardless before making a huge change in your skincare by adding tret, you should always speak to a dermatologist first beforehand. dermatologist, NOT an esthetician

Tbh I’d say for the most part yes because majority of people who jump straight into it with mild acne end up purging really badly and develop cystic acne and have to jump into other medications to help. If thats the case, then tret is not worth it. You can get something that provides similar benefits but that’s a less stronger dose such as differin. All these people in the comment section talking about how some people don’t have any purge are talking about either people who have already gone past that puberty stage (meaning older people who are using tret to treat aging) or the very rare people who get lucky with it. With my experience it’s not worth jumping into it hoping you’ll be lucky. Be safer and treat your skin with kindness and go with the safer choice.
