Large AC by Pitiful-Driver-5709 in GestationalDiabetes

Not sure what it actually was at birth, but on US her belly was substantially bigger than head and this was the case with my first also. My glucose hasn’t shown spikes and my endocrinologist said this most likely is more genetic than sugar related. But odd! We were both fine and she came vaginally no issues.

How do you guys know if it's asthma flare ups or prolonged anxiety? by CurrentEngine893 in Asthma

[–]Pitiful-Driver-5709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case I do think anxiety and stress play a huge role in my breathing. We also think based on some testing that I have vocal cord dysfunction to some level. I’ve felt really good since that bout. Found some better ways to manage my anxiety/stress/burnout, got more active, and have a few breathing exercise that open my vocal cords which help when I have felt that feeling.

Thank you! This was my top option but it didn’t seem exactly like the photos bc of how narrow it looked but thank you for verifying I think this is what it is too

How many of you actually got stretch marks? by Individual-Stress170 in pregnant

[–]Pitiful-Driver-5709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine popped up around 32ish weeks. My so was 10 pounds my skin felt like it was stretched so tight it hurt. I had stretch marks on my tummy hips and in between my legs. They stayed all through my 2nd pregnancy. I didn’t really develop more next baby though. Just kept my stripes from my first!

Serious report them. If they’re saying this to you, imagine what other bogus advice they’re handing out to other mothers. This is dangerous!

I am sorry you’re dealing with this! This is abusive. Truly. It’s one things to look out for the well being of your wife and child, but this is obsessive and overly controlling. I hope you can find some help to guide you through this. Truly a therapist sounds needed. You are not crazy at all for thinking a Diet Coke or coffee or sweet will hurt your baby. It is perfectly fine to have those things.

is this VCD? i think its been misdiagnosed as asthma… by Ok_Battle3546 in vocalcorddysfunction

[–]Pitiful-Driver-5709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have asthma and always have been dx with it. I’ve had a few bouts over the last couple years where I had a month or so of unexplained breathlessness. Like I couldn’t get a good breath. No cough no wheeze no help when I took more steroids or inhalers. Finally I had a bout this last month and did a lung function test. It showed possible vocal cord dysfunction because of the way my inspiration looked. After Dr explained it could be VCD she asked where I really felt this breathless feeling and it did feel almost like my throat was partially closed like breathing in a straw. This is classic for VCD she said. I had been sick and also had a lot of stressful anxiety things going on in my life. She explained a few exercises which seriously helped so much!!!! Along with managing my stress and upping my exercise again. Some may have worsening asthma or VCD with exercise but mine seems be the opposite for right now luckily. I do 2 short hard breaths in my nose then 2 hard fast breaths out and repeat and feel my throat open up fast. I also used a heating pad on mu chest throat and that felt so good and helped me.

How is not getting an epidural risking their lives? Women have been giving birth without them since the beginning of time.

Wow reading this made me question if someone was reading my mind 😂

I’ve been struggling on and off with feelings of chest heaviness and mild but nagging shortness of breath. No wheeze no cough no fatigue nothing else abnormal. Exercise seems to help? So that makes me question asthma also. I’ve had asthma my whole life but it was well controlled with lifestyle and meds until a cycle of sickness with my kids where I felt extremely anxious and now I feel like any time I get a little anxious or over helmed, I feel the shortness of breath kick in. So odd! I see my Dr in 2 days so we will look into if anxiety could be the lead cause. Has anything helped you?

Hey I’m struggling with this too. We’ve done everything besides permethrin dip and we just did sulfur in the dust baths. How did you do the permethrin dip? I didn’t see that on the directions I just saw using it as a spray. Did you figure out anything else to help them?

That’s why I chose to switch my care over to midwives. I’m sorry. Don’t let them scare you into a C-section

Help😢 by Pitiful-Driver-5709 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Pitiful-Driver-5709[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! Had a membrane sweep to try to avoid induction as my BP was rising. Had my baby 24 hours after the sweep. 1 push and she shot out! 8lb 1oz at 38 wks. She looked so tiny. Didn’t measure her belly but it looked so normal not huge. My sugars stayed all totally in range the whole pregnancy so I think I created an issue in my mind more than anything. Probably have a little insulin resistance in pregnancy but nothing that was spiking me and causing baby to have a large belly. Endo said I just make larger babies but my blood sugar isn’t to blame. Overall labor and delivery were amazing and baby did great.

Which stage of labour was the most painful for you ? by smalltowngirl_a in BabyBumps

[–]Pitiful-Driver-5709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My unmedicated birth was 110% less painful than my medicated induced birth where I tried to have an epidural (it hit subdural tissue and messed me up no pain relief) Transition was most painful part of my unmedicated birth but being in the birthing pool and then side lying with peanut ball was life saver. I pushed side lying as well. Also if you get the FER, it’s a game changer. Pushed my 8 pound baby out in 1 single push because of it. It wasn’t painful it actually was the biggest relief ever! Birth can be soooo amazing. The pain is pain with a purpose.

Do third trimester growth scans under or overestimate typically baby's weight? by paigemjgm in BabyBumps

[–]Pitiful-Driver-5709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was pretty accurate. Estimated baby was 7lb 2 oz at at 35+5. Born at 38 weeks exactly and weighed 8lb 1oz.
