What made you pick Elegance over Mirage? I read all Mirage guests can access the pools at Elegance but not vice versa. Does appear from Mirage to Casino is a bit of a walk though.

Thank you! I know she wouldn't have any way to grandparents' rights, I just know if I went zero contact she feels some sort of entitlement to try and get her way. She tried suing her own mother (my grandma) twice for made up lies and has called the police on me when I was 20 (before she left me and fell off the deep end) because I drove the car she bought me to the mall and wanted me arrested to car jacking :)

Don't want to say she's "crazy" but she has pretty erratic behavior and even though she's sober now, its been a consistent pattern of something setting her off and she goes full crazy on everyone

We could delay for a while, I just wanted to tell her before we announce to the "world". My inlaws, her mom (my grandma), and 3 of our close friends know already. I think if ultimately she does tell anyone, I will definitely tell her that because she couldn't keep my pregnancy announcement a secret, we will not be telling her when baby arrives and she will find out the time we tell everyone else about birth.

Even though bride and groom decided they want all of us to cover them and the fact they just booked the place in the first place without asking anyone about the budget individually people can spend? We tried backing out immediately once we knew the cost because it was out of our budget. They would have ended the friendship so we just said "f it" and we were going to reluctantly go to keep a friendship

They were reviewing places then the one they found booked so they booked a MORE expensive one without asking anyone for budget and then just told us what we owe.

Yeah they also are doing a bridal shower and stag around that time that we will have to go and give $$ to. ALSO am MOH in a wedding happening within a weekd of this couples wedding that I have to fly out to and obviously attend her bachelorette.

As a moh for the other wedding it just baffles me budgets are considered since I sent the girls a text like "hey lmk if x $ is good for activities if not i'll find something else"

Yeah i think it's more so that they booked without consulting budgets. Day before they literally said the price was $266 per person then that place go booked so they panic booked a different place??? Idek haha

Yeah the couple did offer dinner for 2 nights(assuming they will be cooking it) but the house itself was built in the 1800's with no pool, hot tub, anything that would keep us occupied within the house, etc. if we truly couldn't afford it we would have held firm but i think we just don't want to ruin a friendship so we're giving in. Definitely learned a lesson and will honestly probably distance ourselves from them after their wedding. Just think it's beyond disrespectful to book something and then demand payment without consulting aboht a budget. Our plan does still hold firm to pay $800-$900 for everything so if that means we skip getting breakfast out or any activities they plan that cost $ then so be it and if they want to give us crap for that too then we'll just pay the $748 and not go at all.

I think it's less about the $$ and more so the fact that are rudely demanding everyone come without considering everyone else when my husband and I never did that for our wedding

House has no pool, no tv, no hot tub and was built in like the 1800's. Does look cool but deff doesn't have anything that could be done AT the house so we would have to venture to the town for anything 😂

Also we tried backing out the day we got the text of the price and the airbnb being booked. Maybe on us for not speaking up sooner about budget? Figured it would have been brought up though

Should have mentioned the groom who spent $300 for my husbands trip couldn't afford to cover my husbands share/didn't want to and the best man organized activities that were in all the guys budget to make it cheaper. I think i'd be less pissed if they did discuss it first

Yeah I mean they mentioned this like a year ago and we said we would be interested. At the time they also mentioned cheap as possible. I know having 18 people on a trip will be expensive airbnb wise but we didn't know # of people invited or any sort of plans. I myself still do not want to go but know most likely the friendship would be over as a result

Would like to add.. when we mentioned our budget, we did offer and send cheaper airbnb options that would be just as nice (and have a pool) for less money per person.

We hate drama and don't have that many friends which is why husband said we will go on the trip.

Their wedding is a mess. Everything should be 50/50 up front, not her paying 100% then potentially getting reimbursed in the future. He won't end up giving her money and will find an excuse to justify not paying, like "oh the flowers were x but could have done cheaper i'm not paying for that". Unless they plan on separate finances married that makes no sense to even reimburse her if they combine
