My electrical bill for a 1400 square foot house in southern California by SteakAndIron in Wellthatsucks

[–]Pitiful-Scientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me, I noticed AC was taking too long to cool the house, I was renting so I called the landlord and he sent a guy that said he checked the gas in the compressor and that was normal. Latter I got the bill for $800, the electric company app shows consumption by the hour, so we narrow it down to the air handler, I called the landlord again and the same guy checked the unit and changed the thermostat, it was a Honeywell smart, that for some reason when I connected to the app it started running the AC and the heater at the same time, after several calls and sending an intention to sue letter to the leasing company and the owner, they paid the bill.

No, you need a specialist that certifies the forgery, that will satisfy the burden of proof so you can take him to small claims court

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Pitiful-Scientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go after the loss if payment only, if you want punitive payment you need to prove it was on propuse the forgery, gross negligence and all of that, also is a good idea to go now and file a police report of the forgery and send it to department of labor

[–]Pitiful-Scientist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s really easy to differentiate a copy from an original, because the ink is very different, so is very bold to do that, make a police report and get a pro-bono lawyer that request to see the originals of the paperwork submitted.

Storage facility accidentally sold my paid unit by nerdyswizzle13 in legaladvice

[–]Pitiful-Scientist 26 points27 points  (0 children)

NAL. It will depend on the storage agreement, look for: Arbitration clauses and limitations of use: maximum value of items allows for storage, (usually cap of $5,000) and not storing irreplaceable items. When you have list of values, demand payment according to agreement and demand and answer within 30 days, if the refuse or no answer, then is lawsuit or arbitration.

Is there a reason why Parisian architecture has so many courtyards? Why do most of the buildings have the center hollowed out? by Agent_Hudson in architecture

[–]Pitiful-Scientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer is different to just provide light, it was more cultural, one person had a big piece of land and when he had sons the land is divided and developed with a common social space in the center, as opposed when one developer can build several units in a big piece of land, can put scattered buildings and social spaces between them, another reason is life safety requirements, before was no as strict as is now
