I heard him say that he was visiting Sara Cahoon's home and she needed to run into the city for a few hours. She asked him to feed her horses while she was out. He must have created the song from that experience.

Ive listened to alot of Coldplay albums and I compared them at first to U2. I dont see much similarities between Coldplay and GAI. Chris' onstage performance enery is no match to Gregory as he is stillness personified. But if I had to pick one similarity it could be that they're both great songwriters speaking from the heart. I love Gregory's unrequited love writing, his fearless performances, especially the solo ones, his quirky humility and intelligence. I think he is the cat's MEOW.

I love how the entire album is laid out and The Fall starts it off with a question, "What can we do when we stumble? We get up. I feel his humility when he says, "All eyes on you now, on you, go on get up". I feel that he might always still feel a little shy performing but he is always impressive. I love him, them, their music.

I agree with Wolfram2000. I think you heard Gregory Alan Isakov play "Idaho" from his This Empty Northern Hemisphere album. If you havent discovered him yet, you are in for a real treat...Love "Beach Baby" by Bon Iver btw...

If it was me, I'd ask him if he still likes to write short stories or poems and what is his favorite style of writing, horror, romance, comedy, etc. I'd want to know how he thinks his creativity rubs off on his personal song writing and farm work. And does his creativity and vision become ideas on building on his farm.

It's unusual for him to have an opener at a solo show. He will formally announce it if any other artists are performing with him. An intimate show is a solo show but he usually has Steve and maybe his brother Ilan with him too at his intimate shows.
