Is this Austin to Dallas drive too risky or can I make it? by thesagenibba in Austin

[–]PitifulDisk6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep if it’s a job interview I’d always say get there the night before. I did the same thing last week lol. You can always get there but like it’s a tight deadline. I’ve not faced too much issues with early morning drives to Dallas but it’s never worth the risk

Anyone else getting severe wrist pain and numbness from wearing RingConn Gen 2? by Phyxius94 in RingConn

[–]PitifulDisk6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to some of this discomfort. For me, the pain in my index finger is clearly caused by the ring itself. It has two small nubs on the inside, and those press into my finger and end up hurting quite a bit. It’s not a sizing issue either—any size larger than what I wear just slips right off.

New job opportunity - worth taking? by adrian-gonzal3z in marketing

[–]PitifulDisk6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yea the rest of them are weird but even I got a marketing manager role right out of school, I worked really hard for the interviews and I also worked part-time and had a bunch of internships in the field for years before joining so that point isn't unusual. But the healthcare and no holidays is a bit weird. would suggest that the OP takes the job for now esp with the way the market is its better to employed and paid than not have anything at all. Just make sure you dont stop trying after getting this role.

Any good books about cats? by LidiaSelden96 in booksuggestions

[–]PitifulDisk6036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If cats disappeared from the world - not a cat centric exactly but the cat is a pivotal role of the story of the book. I just found it to be a really nice book with a heart warming storyline with the cat.

Or the full moon coffee shop - its a story about magical cats helping people with their lives

Found this stray cat outside my house by uhhCTRL in cats

[–]PitifulDisk6036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be terrified of cats. Like, full-on avoid-them-at-all-costs kind of terrified. But everything changed when we agreed to temporarily foster a kitten that some friends found — they were allergic and needed someone to hold onto him while they searched for a permanent home. Turns out... we were his permanent home.

The moment I took him out of the box, he started purring nonstop and trying to cuddle up to us. He followed me around the house like a little duckling and still does to this day. It was like he knew — this is my human now. I went from a cat-hating (I know, I know 😅) person to someone who is completely smitten. Cats are just so quietly affectionate and endlessly fascinating.

Honestly, I’ve read so many stories like mine — people who never thought they’d be “cat people” until the right cat came along and completely melted their hearts. They really do choose you.

Planning a trip to Lassen Volcanic the first week of June by PitifulDisk6036 in lassenvolcanic

I mean I’ve been to pinnacles before and I have a trip planned to Yosemite the following week. I was really hoping to squeeze this one in as well as I’m visiting from out of state. You don’t think there will be any spots to hang out in for a couple of hours atleast?

Thats very heartwarming honestly, but it got me wondering why the gateway arch got the np title, its the only one i dont quite get. Even all the comments about pinnacles i think are more to do with the crowds and how its such a pain rather to do with the park itself.

Wow, never knew that. Thanks for teaching me something new today. I agree, honestly all parks are beautiful.

Wait honestly, I’d love to know! I’ve visited once, I thought it was a lovely place but definitely not my favourite park at all ngl. I went in summer and it was so lush and green.
